Awards Ceremonies.

Postby Workingman » 09 Feb 2015, 15:42

It is hard to get away from the damned things. There are the Oscars, BAFTAs, Emmys, Grammys, Whammys. Bammys, Sportys and Thingys.

In the run-up we get the nominations, then we get the winners and losers, then we get the aftermath.... but who watches them? Not anybody I know. I might catch a glimpse when switching channels, but that's it.

'Tis the season for a lot of them isn't it?
Some of them are good though, still remember when Robbie made his big comeback appearing with Tom Jones on the Brits :)

Mostly I don't watch them, but I guess if you have films etc, then you need some kind of judgement.

I meant

Athletes have the Olympics, but also Commonwealth games, area games, inter-schools contests even.
Musicians (classical) have all sorts of contests and award ceremonies, they're just mostly not on Tv.
Chefs have Michelin stars, etc, etc...

Films and Tv programmes are watched by the general public, so the awards for those things are assumed to be of interest to the same audience.

Better? :D

Better?

Sort of, but do they need a ceremony to tell them what films you like...?

All of the general public have their bins emptied, do we have Binmen awards?

Luvvies congratulating other luvvies. Give me strength.

I don't tend to watch, although I did watch David (His Gorgeousness) Tennant getting his award at the National Television Awards. He didn't win a category as such, it just seemed to be for Being David Tennant, but that worked for me 8-) :P

We love award ceremonies!! David T got his award for Special Recognition Kaz :)

I think we just like to see clips from films/programmes and see what other people like, cheap entertainment yes but we just like it x

We do n't tend to watch any, we might start watching the Brits but I end up getting too annoyed at the lack of 'proper' music being recognised
