Yes I wondered exactly what they were. So they are just like short jeggings.

Yes, but not necessarily made from thick jeans material - they can be tailored cotton

Those my daughter Becky wears are not as tight as those elasticated jegging things. Some are very well tailored and, dare I say, "classy".

Jeggings are absolutely not the same as leggings
Leggings are like t-shirt material but with a bit of elastane in, to make them extra-clingy.

Jeggings on the other hand, tend to be thickish cotton or denim, with a little bit of elastane.
Not the same thing at all, honest

But still not quite the same as Capri pants, which yes are slim-fitting, not necessarily with elastane although these days do tend to be.
Also tend to have a flatter front, often a side zip
