Well, call me a wet old Liberal if you must, but I think putting the drivers and illegals back in the lorries and dumping them in the Atlantic would certainly be a deterrent.. ;) ;)

There's the problem.

It used to be just the men and just to work enough to get them a good start back home. Or to make it long enough to bring their families across legally.

Now they are taking the horrible risk with their entire families. I'm not sure whether this indicates that things are much worse back home or whether it means that they think the risk is less now or that they think the only way to get in is to blackmail us with women and children.

If it's blackmail we have to stop it. Because if we don't they will continue to risk of the lives of their families in order to put us in a moral dilemma. However on reflection the moral dilemma should be this.

If we _Don't_ send them back and stop this then they will put tens of thousands more women and children in the hands of people traffickers. We will be at fault for putting these people at risk by not doing what we should do.

And as a thought on that matter if I were abducting and trading in slaves, I would make absolutely sure that my people in the UN, EU and national governments were blathering on 24x7 about the "humanitarian crisis", to keep the coffers filled...

I read that in France, Switzerland and Austria, the police are rounding up transiting migrants and returning them to Italy. Now why don't we round up aall our illegals and deport them within 24 hours to France?

On another tack, Italy is said to be so fed up with the problem that unless the EU takes more migrants from Italy, they will be forced to invoke "Plan B". What Plan B is, they're not saying.

I know what I would do if I were Matteo Renzi. The next time HMS Bulwark plus 3,000 rescued migrants attempts to dock at Catania or any Sicilian port - I'd refuse them permission ......

Because down the years many of us have been conditioned by the media, at the direction of hidden hands, into thinking that such action is inhumane, racist, xenophobic....

At the first sign of any attempt to turn back the tide the likes of Liberty, Amnesty, Charities, unelected PC brigades and Think Tanks would be up in arms with those in the public who have fallen for the 'agenda' backing them up.

Just seen some photos of immigrants getting into the back of a lorry stopped just before it boarded a ferry at Calais. This was filmed from a coach immediately behind the lorry.

Someone has said how the emergency door on the coach could be opened from the outside. So I bet some immigrant will now open the door on a coach.

Why doesn't HM Bulwark and other ships stop the small boats leaving Lybia and other countries.
Italy seems to have the right stance. No more here unless other countries take some

Personally my feeling is that Australia has the right stance. If you want to come in, fill out the forms from home and wait till we say yes. I note that the sinking ferry which demanded landing rights and was rejected, didn't sink but made it to port.

The EU did not ask these people to board the boats. In fact they told them not to.

We cannot take responsibility for the disastrous choices taken by people hell bent on breaking the law. If they are discovered, then they should be sent back to the north African land they cam from. If they won't they should be arrested and dumped back on the North African beach they came from. Again and again and again until they get the message.

Of course it won't happen. Well not until we realise that anyone who takes on illegal immigrants from sinking boats has to keep them.

When Australia took that very hard line stance on the boats, they stopped trying to come over. Potentially saving thousands of lives.

Being a wimp saves no lives...

My heart aches for the women with youngsters and babies.. Those drowned at sea.. The cruelty of gangmasters taking such large amounts of money knowing that these innocents may be drowned. Whatever the situation I find it hard to cope with emotionally.. Just think unless thing change we could be in the same situation as Englanders ourselves...

And there you have hit the nail on the head, Kate.

It also turns out that we are going to have to be cruel to be kind in order to stop this tidal wave of illegal immigrants.

A lot of us, especially us ex military types, do not buy in to the 'women and children' game. We were taught not to - either can carry arms or plant bombs or wear suicide vests. It irks me when I see things such as "57 killed in some bombing, including women and children". It then turns out there were three women and two children, the other 52 were men; and they are obviously expendable.

Exactly why I said it was their fault. Would you put your children in danger this way for an uncertain future?

It is blackmail and nothing short of it. They could go to other North African countries and get support and food. They choose to come to Europe because there they can get wealth and comfort instead of a temporary camp which gives support and food. It is not an absolute need.

It is a choice they make and it puts their entire families in danger.

I do not have pity. I have total contempt for the parents who do this. Men and Women.
