Question Time - John McDonnell

I don't know if anyone else watched this ..... I have to say, having seen his performance, that John McDonnell went up in my estimation both on a personal and a political level.

I thought it was a very measured and plausible performance in the face of hostile questioning.

I saw his response in a clip on the news and I thought that he was sincere.

As someone who was in the forces through the 70s and early 80s, the time of the troubles, I always argued that we had to speak with the IRA, and others, in order to get some form of peace. A solution was never going to be obtained by force of arms, from either side, that was obvious.
