i recently read in the papers of more cuts to the Police force in UK and a senior officer saying that it is time to call a halt in the hunt for Madeleine which has cost millions so far.

Yesterday i read that ANOTHER 2 million has been given to Police to continue the hunt

A team of ninety Metropolitan police officers have been formed to investigate "allegations of historic sexual abuse". NINETY!

Meanwhile front line officers like my son in law are rushed from pillar to post trying to keep up with incidents. It's crazy.

The priorities of the police seem to follow media driven agendas.

The other night BBC Look North ran an item on "hate crime" following a "spate" of incidents in W. Yorks this year - 160 reports with 10 charges. The incidents ranged from abusive language aimed at the person to assault (they are probably where charges were made).

Boil it down and comes out at just over one incident per day and about one assault per month in a population of 2.4 million.
