Two good posts Osc and I agree...they might be taught a few dances at stage school, tap, ballet or jazz, etc but learning all those new dances and all those new steps, in a short space of time takes hard work.
I don't think I could do it....it would take me ages to learn.

I don't care who danced what when they were younger...the pleasure is watching an individual improve (and have fun) every week. :D

Darcey's marking was very odd!

Wonder who will go tonight??!!

I didn't bother watching the first two weeks on catch-up, it's so long and I figured if they went out that early they must have been pretty dire, plus we only got back Friday evening and it was nice watching properly yesterday :)
So I'm all up to date now, and I'm glad we were back in time for movie week, I really enjoyed it :)

I agree with all the comments, especially about the stage school thing, people should know most actors will have been and had to learn all sorts. It's surely why when people like Darren Gough are halfway decent it's even more exciting, it's the improvement that's impressive. And of course sportsmen tend to be ultra-competitive, so it's a bit of a shame there aren't more this year. Louis Smith was a good example, he had to be ultra-fit but also flexible and expressive.

If any newsreaders/presenters are any good at all then it's from square one usually, so good for them but they can't really expect to do better than those with more 'artistic' backgrounds.
But the standard is high isn't it, having missed the beginning (and not watching any soaps) I'm trying to remember who everyone is but a few do stand out.

:Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

What an enjoyable show tonight.

I think it is amazing how so many of the entrants have improved.
It really is a pleasure to watch them.

I wonder who will be expelled this weekend?

Yes another great show last night, Aggers. It will interesting to see who is sent home, won't it - to my mind, Kirsty and maybe Jeremy in the bottom two, although I do love Jeremy's enthusiasm, he is having so much fun

Hmmm ... not entirely sure about the judges' collective decision tonight. :|

What did you think?

Poor Kirsty is what I think! Shocking decision to send her home....Jamelia wasn't as good in the dance off, but tbh I expected Carol and Katie to be in the bottom two anyway :|

Jamelia should not have been in the dance off at all, she was way better than Kirsty and Carol - I was amazed that Carol was not in it  Kirsty did do better in the dance off, making more of an effort, but Jamelia didn't let it slip at all and although it could have been a bit tighter and sharper, IMO she has been a much better dancer than Kirsty all along, so I feel the judges sent the right person home.

What on earth were Kirsty's hands and arms doing in the dance off? they were flying all over the place. Jamelia was much better.

I like Carol, but she should have gone

Has everyone stopped watching :?  Last night saw some some very odd marking which we felt was strategic to ensure certain people get to Blackpool. Sadly I think Jamelia will be going home, partly due to the marking. I hated Kellie and Kevin's Samba  awful awful music, as was the music for Jeremy's quickstep. Peter's "Viennese Waltz" was a blatant American Smooth, but Len was really the only one who pulled her up on it...Janette knew full well judging by her reaction to Len's comments. I found last night's programme annoying, to be honest!
