Fun and Games

Cameron finally came out and said that the UK should not be like Norway as we'd be worse off than we are now within the EU.

The response is quite enlightening.....

For the campaign group I lead, No to the EU.

So not exactly an impartial view, just more "better out" propaganda.

I think that I will wait for the real debate to take place in the run up to the proper referendum. You know, the one where truths trump myths.

But the real figures beg the lie of the pro EU camp.

EEA has to apply ALL the directives say the Pro EU camp. Those in the EEA say over 13 years only 9% of the legislation Forced on the EU states had to be applied.

The EU negotiates as a block and has One vote. Yet Norway is sitting at the same table and has One vote..... The UK One vote as a permanent member of the UN security council, 5th largest economy in the world, 3rd most powerful military in the world, is going to be one hell of a LOT larger than Norway and we will have One vote too. Not one 28th of a vote. In fact less than 1/28th of a vote because if the other 27 don't agree with us (which is most of the time on international affairs), we get no vote at all.

These are realities the Pro EU camp tries to hide. Norway is somewhat on a Par with Scotland but finds itself free to make deals and negotiate. Great Britain is 9 times the size of Scotland and the UK as a whole is formidable indeed at negotiations.

Yet the Pro camp tells us we must fear leaving.....

Of course there are downsides. But there are potentially Huge upsides too. Also if the UK leaves the EU, their 2020 and 2050 strategy for emissions control is going south in a big way because they really need the UK cuts to make it work. If you take the UK cuts out and divide the rest, it's nothing like their commitment....

I want to hear more of the positives and I want to hear it from the people who live it. The author of that response represents the views of 70% of Norwegians and that majority is growing, not shrinking.

So, for me, it's very representative.

The EU has a lot more to fear from losing the UK than the UK has to fear from losing the EU....

And for that to be conclusively proved I want all the proof. I do not want statements or opinions, I want hard facts.

Give me the proof. Put the uncontroversial figure out there. If we are better out give us the figures. We are a servce economy. We produce virtually sod all.

Our financial services can be reproduced by any economy at any time.
