Baghdad and Damascus come to Paris.

That was one of my first thoughts... Those who oppose the new surveillance regulations are going to get short shrift in the light of this...

It was early in the morning but I'd had about 4 hours sleep. I don't sleep very well any more unless at home or with Mrs S and even that is not guaranteed. So I was about as awake as I'm likely to be.

I'm hoping they open the borders again by tomorrow, I was planning a trip over to do some shopping. It will probably be close to my last chance before Christmas.

Reported death toll down to about 128 but injuries at 200. Radical Islamists have created their own Arabic hashtag on twitter to crow about it and that should be tracked and anyone contributing to it from the UK should be put on a register. It's about time that we started dealing with the attitude as well as the actions. One leads to the other when it is believed that there are no consequences.

Frankly, I am not surprised by what is now happening.
There will probably be more to come - over here, too.

If we had been blessed with politicians with any sense,
this 'blessed plot, this England' would be safe, but now
it is too late. All we can do is pray.

I don't think praying will do much good Aggers.the damage has been done,we have had open house for far too long, allowing the wrong people in, and not getting rid of the criminal element who openly cock a shoot at authority, and use their Human Rights that nine times out of ten work to their advantage. I watched the TV throughout the night horrendous.

Sources are now saying that the attacks were carried out by a self-contained cell made up of those who had returned to France from Syria. If that does turn out to be true then nowhere in Europe is safe.

I have to agree with you Kate. Too much consideration seems to have been given to the rights of those who wish to settle in this country and too little consideration has been given to the endogenous population. It seems those who come here want the rest of us to change to fit in with them. Expressions of fear that 'we would be overrun' have been sneered at by leftie intellectuals for many years now, but with millions trying to make their way to Europe this may very well become a reality.

I remember Nigel Farage was howled down when he remarked that there was a 5th column amongst us. I think he is quite right - and it will be to the detriment of all who live here whatever faith or political allegiance we hold.

Breaking news is that one of the gunmen was a Syrian who entered Europe on the refugee trail.

As all this was going on, this event was going on in the south of England.

If we do not have laws to prevent such meetings then we should have. Some of the reported statements look close enough to being 'hate crimes' for the police to take action.

There are now reports of arrests in connection with the Paris attacks in the Molenbeek area of Brussels. Suff is in Brussels so I hope he is OK.

We have also had the North Terminal at Gatwick closed for five hours. A French citizen has been arrested and a firearm found.

We can only wait and see. Cameron has refused to put this country of ours on red alert, he thinks our rating is sufficient.
I live in dread every Monday when my daughter a nurse travels up to London, returning on a Friday evening. I also remember the hatred exhibited by young and not so young Muslims in Luton, when a young female reporter was there recording one of their extremist marches. I feel sorry for the Muslims in this country who truly feel part of our society and who contribute, but I think there is an element of fear within the Muslim community, most are afraid to show their contentment and happiness due to the fact they live and have settled in this country of ours that was aptly named." Great Britain"
