I'm happy to check now and again and wait for a decent rate, it worked last year. It's when we all check around the same time that it shoots the prices up. We need to take the b*ggars by surprise

Me too, but I called the Briar Rose as cancellation is without penalty.

The BR is better located, esp for breakfast, and at only £13 more than Travelodge (miles away) is probably the one to go with.

It's a 10 minute walk from the Briar Rose to TL on Moor Street.

I've gone for the Briar though...like you said. Ideal for brekkie!

Moor Street is the pits, Ally. I was thinking T'lodge on Charlotte St/Neville St, much more refayned.

But I can put up with the plebs in the Briar Rose for one night.

Having stayed in both the above places there is nothing refayned about either of them.

They are what they are - little rooms with a bed, teeny bathroom and a window that opens approx 3mm.

During 2011 when Con was very ill and we were flying over to Brum with regularity, many times we got TL accommodation for £18 or £20. Fine for just resting our weary heads.

Plenty time before the meet to arrange summat.

I shall decide nearer the time about staying over as it will very much depend on price - I have do much to pay out in June.

I won't make it, I'm afraid - we won't be long back from our (quite expensive) holiday in the US.

I had a quick look at AirBnB and there were some interesting options in the area.

I'll be in the country but not sure I want to take a day off work, or even be able to take a day off at that time in the project. We'll see. It's a bit far to ride/drive so it would leave flights or train.
