You know how this is an expensive, upmarket sort of town (despite us plebs) and there was a huge uproar when the 99p shop opened in what was Woolies?
Well, evidence of that snootiness - it's closed :(

Nooooo Saundra, Cheltenham, which is less than ten miles away, is the posh one. Gloucester has a lovely Cathedral, but the town has a lot of social problems and is a bit run down. We are actually in the Severn Valley here, the Cotswolds are a few miles away. Easily reachable, and we are within easy driving distance of some beautiful places, but Gloucester itself is a funny old place ;)

Joking aside, the Docks area is great and there are some lovely parts of town. I would have included ours before that stabbing last weekend :roll:
