I like Michael Palin too :) I'm still dipping in and out of the Alison Weir book M bought me about Elizabeth of York, Henry VIII's mother. It's quite academic and wordy so I'm taking it slowly :?

How do you get free ones Saundra?

I'm finding the only downside to my kindle is buying the blimmin books!! I was always a library borrower, never bought books, but now am spending a fair bit on approx a book a week. The free titles I have seen so far don't interest me....*sigh*

I've just obught 3 more this week, not started them yet. I finished Behind Closed Doors - really good :D

As I said when you first asked about kindles :?

"You can always get free titles from Amazon :)
Go to kindle store/books and you will find the top 100 in two charts, one paid and one free.
Have a look through the best-rated, read the reviews and try a few :)

Then there are loads that are under £1 as well, often really good ones.
The thread in here 'A good buy/free' is almost all Amazon kindle deals - sign up for the kindle deals emails, it only takes a few seconds to see if there are any you fancy.
The deals are often free or 99p for a limited time and can be brand new releases.
Have a look on amazon at authors you like, sometimes one title will be cheap or free and others full price."

Di I tend not to return to a thread if there are no new posts, and I forgot you had explained there.

Thanks everyone x

Me, too. There are hundreds of free books on Kindle website - mostly classical,
and a lot of modern ones with dubious titles - about gay cowboys, for example.
I've just downloaded three classics, The Picture of Dorian Grey, The Thirty-Nine
Steps, and The Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde, and really enjoying myself.
Makes one realise just how wonderful the English language can be when it's used
properly.

Here's a link.... http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_qz_bac ... 1458577459

Note that there are over 88 thousand books there.
