Who? The Labour press for one. For six years they have been telling us that Cameron and Osborne are getting it wrong, that they don't know what they are doing, that the country could be doing better, that everything the government tells us is wrong and we can't trust them.
Great that about sums it up...
Now they want us to "Trust" George Osborne's" assessment of the risk of Brexit. Right, that's the guy you've been telling us to ignore for six years because he's an incompetent. Also they want us to "trust" Cameron as solid sober PM who has our best interest at heart. Erm, sorry, you've been telling us he's a lightweight idiot who can't run a country for the last six years....
Bit of a conflict there not?
Osborne and Cameron for another. When we hear that the economy is doing surprisingly well. Much better than expected and companies are hiring even during the possibility of Brexit....
Yet we've been told for the last 2 months that we're on the verge of collapse and we "need" the EU markets to keep us afloat, without them we'll sink....
Pinocchio, your nose is growing...
What I did find interesting from that article is that the UK has gone from $2.3tn GDP in 2010 to $2.9tn in 2016. Yet France and Germany have virtually stood still at the same time. Germany was $3.6tn in 2010 and has suffered recession, negative growth and stagnation for much of those six years. Wasn't it Osborne who said that if things continued the way they were going, the UK would be the largest economy in the UK by 2020??? Where did that little bit of optimism go?
That hard sell is just getting harder and harder...
Which is possibly why we've been seeing 6, 7 and 10 percent Brexit results in several of the polls just released yesterday and today. Well if nothing else it makes some morbid entertainment.
