Morning all, been a hot weekend here.

Ally, safe journey. Birthday congrats to Shell and Ton.

The people marking out the Randonee marked both legs as yellow instead of 1 leg as amber and the group decision was not to look at the map but just to "follow" all the others. So we walked 9.5km instead of 7.2....

My weight was doing well on Saturday, down to my lowest at 111.4kg, but a weekend of excess with BIL and SIL pushed me back up 2.9kg...  Need to lose that as my target was to be 110kg by the time I go back into the office on Wed morning.

Just work here today although I'll probably be doing something round the house this evening.

Have a good day all.

Well, I've done the ironing and watched a lot of rubbish on the tv - I'm just having a cup of camomile tea, then I'll attack the bathroom.

Saundra, it's a bit too warm to sit out in the sun.

And yes Di, I will be having steak of some sort    It's the best place, for miles, for "proper" steak. The Portuguese really don't understand how to butcher meat properly :?

Good afternoon all! It's dull, very breezy but dry here (so far!).

Joe got up just before 6am so that he could be at the gym for when it opened at 6.30. I got up shortly afterwards and changed his bedding and did a load of washing, to add to the load that was done last night. I'd checked the BBC weather app on my phone last night and it forecast showers from lunchtime onwards so that was why I'd got up early, so that I could get the washing all done and out on the line before going to the gym. I checked it again at around 6.30am and it was then forecasting light rain from 8am and heavy rain from 9, so I didn't know whether to chance putting the washing on the line. Glad I did though because among it all were two lots of bedding plus numerous bath towels and there hasn't been a spot of rain at all so it's all dried nicely.

Anyway, the gym's done for the day and Billy's had a lovely long walk through the woods and over the common. I was snacking on Bilberries, they're lovely this year, and we were lucky to see a mother duck walking through the woods with her seven ducklings :D A few months ago we stood and watched a group of little fox cubs playing in a clearing, it was really beautiful to see. I might walk him again shortly, depending on the weather, as John's considering a bike ride tonight and I feel a bit vulnerable in the woods on my own during the evening. You're more likely to come across a gang of undesirables from the estate which borders part of it at night than in the day.

Kaiser Chiefs last night...well...they were quite simply brilliant! We had such a good time! :D

Ally, your visit has flown! Have a safe journey!

Kaz, I hope WW went well!

Ria, good luck with the packing! We're just about straight from doing Tom and Joe's rooms over the weekend. I just need to pick up some storage boxes for them, I know B&M have some nice ones, the lidded cardboard ones with a design on, so I'll have a mooch over to there one morning this week I think.

Di, I hope you have a good day - what did you end up doing?

Have a good day all! xx

Two of my favourite things Jo :D
Looking at holidays :D
And, funnily enough, tearing out pictures/parts of pics/words from magazines for covering boxes :D
I did one at an art therapy course and really enjoyed it, have done a few since :)
There would be a lot more choice of material if we actually bought any magazines in this house  we just have the Saturday Times mag plus foodie freebies from Tesco and Waitrose :D

Hi Jo :) WW went fine thanks, I managed not to break their ipad and all went smoothly, the scales wavered between staying the same as last week and gaining half a pound, so I probably gained 1/4lb which is ok, just a natural fluctuation   BUT I have to concentrate on it now, as - and I don't know if I mentioned this - we are going to Rhodes in October!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Hi: :Hi:     :P

Di, where are you looking at going this time? :D :D 8-)

I buy magazines, usually two or three of the weekly ones

You have mentioned it Kaz but it's as well you said it again as some don't seem to have been paying attention :P

Not decided yet Kaz, but I like looking :D

Not buying magazines is one of the ways I manage to save for a holiday :D
Except of course when it's Glamour for £2 and it's giving me something lovely that would cost a lot more ;) :)
That's not getting at you or anyone else at all btw, but it's true that people who know our income can't understand how we manage to save money - we don't go out for coffee either, once in a blue moon tea/coffee and cake...all those little bits add up to our holidays :D x

Di I understand perfickly, and those Glamour mag deals are fab! 8-) :D :D Mine are only of the Best or Bella variety though, not glossies ;)

You have mentioned it Kaz but it's as well you said it again as some don't seem to have been paying attention :P

They'll be sorry when I drop a quiz on them later :P ;)

Saundra fair point, but that's why we couldn't go in May, we didn't know until this month how much, if at all, M's annual bonus was going to be. Now we do, and the carpets are being ordered soon, but there was enough for a week's holiday. It is our first since last October, apart from the weekend in Devon ;) :)
