Used to go all the time, when I lived in London.

Another Camden lover here! We usually eat at the market whenever we're in London. Last time was in January, the Sunday after David Bowie died. We left here really early and we were in Brixton to see the Bowie mural just after 9am, from there we went straight up to Camden for a walk around and something to eat and then we were home just before 2.30pm so that I could watch football with Joe as promised.

Sorry to see your day was disappointing Aggers, Regents Park is lovely too - what a shame it was hidden from view

The dental surgery I worked at in London had views right over Regent's Park.

I used to take my lunch there most days and have a walk round.

And I worked just down the road and played netball in Regent's park twice a week

Our poor opinion of the 'market' was that it seemed that the sole objective was to sell tat (mementoes?)
to foreign holiday makers. There were few places to get anything to eat, and the prices charged there
for food were quite outrageous - some of the highest we have ever encountered. The pavements were
quite wide, but there was not a bench in sight - perhaps a deliberate ploy to get shoppers to find a seat
in one of the expensive eating places?

We have, in recent years, been on quite a few day trips to various places in England and Wales, and it
does appear that the worst places are those that cater mainly for foreign holiday makers. And this was
definitely the worst to date - and I don't mean because of the weather.

Don and his mates played footy there every Wednesday evening.

From our surgery window we could see the comings and goings of a Sultan that had the most enormous house right on the edge. One day I stood and watched as numerous top end cars went in and stood as the chauffeurs unloaded loads and loads and loads of bags from Harrods!

I think we've worked out before that we weren't there at the same time?
1975-80 I worked first in Wigmore St, then we moved to Baker St, but the last year I was temping at various places so no more netball

Some of that time we played softball as well, no wonder I was fit, what with the fast yomping around the tube, up and down Baker St, lunchtime fast trips to Oxford St, plus racing to meet b/f who was in Carnaby st!

Whenever I've walked around there, it seems that there's some kind of organised sport taking place

Aggers, we always eat at the market so I don't know what the restaurants are like around there. There's an area which sells street food from all over the world so we're working our way around, stall by stall. Last time we had the most amazing barbecued lamb wraps with salad from a Brazilian barbecue stall. When the lady started carving the meat I thought she'd cut enough off for both of us but no, this huge stack of meat was for just the one wrap. Excellent value at around £5 each.

I'm envious because Tom's in London on Monday and it's where he heads to eat too.
