Good morning! It's a sunny start here, but there was a fair bit of rain last night so I think wellies will be needed when I walk Bill in a minute!

We had a bit of a fire drill in the night when the smoke alarms went off, three of us moved quickly to see what was happening while the fourth (John) stood nosing out of the window in his half asleep state, looking to see whose car alarm was going off :? We need to see why they went off because they're electric ones, I did a quick search before going back to sleep and there may be a back up battery which needs replacing or it could be that one of the units (there are three, one on each floor) is wearing out.

John's cycling into work, Tom's working 11-7 and Joe's off to the cinema tonight with some friends to see Suicide Squad.

Have a good day all!

Morning you two

Ally, right now I'd be happy with lying in the shade at 40 degrees.... it's really quite an autumnal feeling here already - nippy mornings and only slightly warmer days - and we're only still in August :( Going to be another year of more green than red tomatoes I feel; sigh

Gosh Jo, that must have woken you all up with an almighty start.... they are rather loud aren't they. Hope you figure out what the issue is and get it sorted so you don't have anymore needless disturbed nights.

Sort of usual work day for me - thankfully our receptionist is back so I can leave at about 3.30. One of the bosses is in and once he's gone (on a 3pm flight) I can head off - yay! Got to go food shopping as I've got some friends coming round for lunch tomorrow. And then get a start with getting the house cleaned. I've been cat sitting for a neighbour this week so haven't had time to do anything at home at all.

Have a lovely day all and enjoy whatever it is you're up to

Ria, when I took Billy out at 7 it felt really Autumny, I thought to myself that it doesn't usually feel like this until September. The dewy grass was really pretty in the bright sunshine though.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here.

The plastering in our bedroom is going well and should be finished today. Just needs to dry out over the next few days and then it can be decorated.

I'm off out for coffee with a few of the ladies this morning, we'll be at Botany Bay today.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Morning both :)

Ally that is seriously hot :o - take care, even though I know you are used to it! xxxxxx

Jo wow, thank goodness it wasn't a real fire! Annoying being woken for nothing, but it's always good to know the systems work! Have a good day :)

Morning Ria, there is a slight nip already, but I'm trying to ignore it! You are right about the tomatoes, last year and the year before we'd had loads of ripe ones by now  Have a good day with your friends tomorrow :)

Good news about the plastering Jen :D :D 8-)

Morning all :) Sunny and warm here today and a good weekend forecast too :D 8-) Excellent 8-) What isn't so excellent is the ironing pile awaiting attention this morning, I can't ignore it any longer as we need some of the clothes for the weekend     Then I'll probably mosey up to Sainsbury's, as much for the walk as anything :) Emma and I are trying out that new Clubbercise class I mentioned, tonight at 6.30 :? :D :Hi:   We are also on a shortlist for a Pilates class - we are trying out new things :? :D   E has a bad back, and I would kill for the flat tummy the instructor has 8-) ;)

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning Jo,

Something to check, urgently. Are your smoke alarms also Carbon Monoxide alarms. Because that could easily be the problem. Opening doors and moving around would have stirred the air and cleared the alarm but I would check.

It's important to know.

For me it's a sad but not unexpected day. When I started the support for Brexit I always knew that I was probably one of the first who would feel the impact if we won and would also be one of the last in terms of where we live. Today RBS announced that the W&G separation is being canned and that we will all know, within 2 weeks, whether we are being retained for other work or not. I'm pretty sure that what I'm working on has absolutely no requirement other than for a new company so I'm job hunting, urgently, right now.

Still I have no regrets. I always said that the decision I took was about the long term heath of our country, as a country, for my Grandchildren and onwards. Not about my own personal welfare.

So today and every day onwards, from now, I'm job hunting until I get one.

The ironic thing is that in the last two weeks I've fended off 3 jobs in Brussels which would have paid equal to what I'm getting today.

On another note I arrived to a cool and rainy Poitiers last night, the night was very cool and this morning it's foggy, 16c and cold.

Have a great day all.

Morning everyone

Amazing what a brandy makes for sleep - zonked me out until 9.00

Cooler here too this morning - but hots up later :Hi: :Hi:

Suff - you'll soon find yourself another job - are those 3 are still looking for some-one?

Grumpy doing the second coat of the colour surrounding the back doors and windows - gert lush, will put it on fb when it's done 8-)

Sorting out for me today - need to make room for when the girls come over - I have no idea where to put things - apart from moving from one room to another

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

I am used to it Kaz, and thanks, but even yesterday when I thought I'd go for a quick run when I finished work at 1pm I quickly decided whilst walking home it would be sheer madness if I did. :o

This morning, even though I was home from my run by 8.30 I was absolutely dripping with sweat  and drank a full litre of water in about a minute!

I'm walking into town in a minute to get my new wedges and will make the journey as quick as possible!

Kaz, short term contract jobs don't hang around long. If you don't grab them they are gone.

I've just put my CV in for a job in London, another banking job and slightly more money. Probably a 12 month contract and more work from home.

I'll hope and be positive.
