Sending a big (((((hug))))) for you Di and vibes for your friend
Ally, vibes for Liz's mom as well, a worrying time for Liz esp being so far away. But good on her for giving Don the ticket for the concert - have fun tonight

Suff, makes sense taking some stuff home now already - safe travels tonight
Re the car and the bike - could you not get a trailer that can take the bike and some of your stuff and attach that to the car. A cheap 2nd hand one probably won't cost that much more than the flight you'd need to collect the bike - and never mind the time saved ;)

Weka, funny you say that the weather your half of the world was warm enough to BBQ and eat outside; I was commenting on FB myself how it's getting darker earlier again this half. Spring for you and Autumn for us definitely seem to be coming fast

Everyone else, enjoy your respective days with family, friends, pootling about etc... have fun

I'm meeting a friend for dinner tonight; weather dependent we'll pop into Sainsbury's and pick up stuff for a picnic on the South Bank (by the London Eye) or head to a cheap and cheerful restaurant by Waterloo station - will be nice either way

Have a lovely day all x

Ria, I don't have a towball on the car. I researched a tow hitch device for trailling the bike at £150 but with another £500 to get one fitted, it's pricey. I could fit the towbar myself (£150 with electrics), but they're tricky with modern car electrics and it's never good to do a job you haven't done in 30 years, under pressure to go somewhere. Mistakes happen.

In the end a flight to Edinburgh and riding the bike home will probably be about the same price. If not so comfortable.

Have a great dinner.

Oh Ally, what a shame about your friend, and all good wishes to her mum for her surgery - nice of her to give Don her ticket, so enjoy it both of you xxx

(((Di))) I am sorry about your friend xxxx

Ria have a lovely meal tonight :)

Roasting hot here now, and has been since lunchtime. A picked me up from the surgery, after my appointment - eventually! She doesn't know that part of town well, so was relying on her SatNag to find the place - and it kindly took her a looong way round, and to put the tin lid on it tried to take her across a level crossing that's been closed for two months, for maintenance    So when we eventually met up we zoomed off to Newent, to a lovely garden centre up there, and had a mooch around and sat outside on the big patio there, enjoying the sunshine. I bought another owl for my patio, this time a solar one :D Just waiting to Skype B now, so best log in >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It's like a double oven convector here with another oven thrown in for good measure! :o  8-) 8-)

Another slight change of plan!

As Fuengirola is only a short drive from Riviera del Sol (where the Harrington's have their apartment) after the Simply Red concert we're going to go there now instead of driving over again tomorrow!

They'll be waiting up for us with cold drinks on the terrace...we'll flippin need them!

Back on Saturday...be good! ;) ;) :D :D :D :D :D

Good evening everybody.
Bit chilly when I walked for the paper after breakfast. But it had warmed up when I went to the bank and did some shopping this morning.
After lunch mowed the lawn.
Then started to repair the shed. Part of the roof has rotted. So I bought some pieces of plastic sheeting. Have cut two strips which I have screwed to the front and one side of the roof. Have still to cover the hole on the top of the roof. May use timber fro that.
Have also been to a friend who does sewing. She has altered three bow ties for me. So a busy afternoon.
The sun was very warm as our back garden is a sun trap. Mrs e says I have to put some after sun on when I have had a shower.
Hope it stays like this over the week end.

Usual Thursday with the children. The weather wasn't so nice this morning so we stayed in. Michael asked if we could have an inside picnic for lunch so that was fun. It brightened up a lot this afternoon and we went for icecream, then to the library where Kellie had to be practically peeled off a large Peppa Pig soft toy  Michael was very interested in all the Olympic sports and we got particular delight in seeing Irishman Thomas Barr miss a bronze by a hairsbreadth in the hurdles - he would possibly not have expected to get out of the semifinal but won that in style and made his country very proud by his performance in the final, and by his lovely demeanor in his post race interview.

I'm so late on parade today!

Good evening all! It's been a day of shopping, walking Bill, snoozing on the sofa (and I woke after an hour with my cold feeling quite a bit better), walking Bill, cooking, food shopping and I finished that off with a walk around the block for Bill.
It's just me and Joe in tonight. John and Tom have gone out with L, John's old college friend and Tom's Godfather. L and John always used to go out on Thursday nights without fail but then work (L's now a copper in disguise ;) ) and children started getting in the way and nights out only happened once or twice a year but they've started going out more regularly lately. They always said when Tom was little that when he was old enough he could go out with them so that's what's happening tonight. L once paid for Tom to go to New York too, Tom was a baby and his flight was only costing £15 so L said he'd pay just so that he could tell people that he'd paid for his Godson to go to New York

Di, I hope your friend will be okay xx

Ally, best wishes for Liz's Mom. Hope you're having a fab time!

Love to all xx
