Gosh Jo yes...two boys generate alot of dirty laundry!

When our machine went kaput about two years ago there was no dilly-dallying. It was in the car immediately and straight to Wortens. No way could I be without a washing machine more than a day!

Jo this is our new one, ours is a washer/dryer but I think this is the same one without the dryer:

I'm really pleased with it, hardly use anything other than the 'daily quick' programme, which takes 28 minutes including a 1400rpm spin! :D
There's an even quicker wash, only 15 minutes I think, but you can still adjust the spin speed which is brill :)

Our last one was a Beko Di and was brilliant - it must have been about 16 years old as the couple we bought the house from had it new when they had it built. :D :D

Ours is a Hotpoint now and it is superb. I love all the cool and quick settings - it's even got a cycle for dirty football boots!

Thanks for the recommendations!

There's a Hotpoint one that Currys have in store for collection (all Argos ones that I looked at were on a 5 day delivery) and it's reduced from £399 to £219. Plus it's the only steel sort of colour available for collection - the washing machine is the only white appliance we have and it sticks out like a sore thumb!

Di, this old one of mine is a washer dryer, I've always had those more out of habit than anything as our first home was a flat and the builders supplied the washer dryer as there wasn't an outside drying area. I've found myself using the dryer less and less though and I honestly don't think I've used it at all in this house. It was so useful to have when the boys were small though as we had a tiny kitchen with no space for a separate dryer.

Afternoon all - we have both had THE longest lie-in known to man!! (well, us ;) ) I have slept like a log! I am putting it down to the anti histamines as I was snoozing on the sofa while we were watching War Horse last night....

We don't have any plans - thought about the cinema (as it's damp out) but as we both still are coughing, perhaps not....so if it dries up, likely a walk somewhere. Tom's popped to see Amy and put some flowers on his parents' grave, I think it would have been his dad's birthday this coming week. With us both being poorly for so long I think we are a little tetchy with each other.....bit of a tough day Friday.

Jen has been to Leeds yesterday with a friend and then got the train to Kyle's later last night but she has started coughing now too and she text to say she was there but she hadn't slept well :(

I have a spot of ironing to do and will throw the hoover around but other than that - kindle this aftie maybe?

Hope everyone has a good Sunday xx

AO are also very good Jo, and super-quick delivery :) I used to have an expensive LG washer but it was far too temperamental for me, the least little thing seemed to upset the electronics, plus the shortest cycles were far from short! I love the cheapie little Beko I have now - it has a 14 minute cycle if you are in a hurry, you can adjust the spin cycle and temp for each wash cycle, and the 40 minute 30 degree cycle gets everything really clean, so I use that for almost everything, aside from towels, bedding and tea towels which I always do on 60 degrees :D

I've had my Zanussi condenser dryer since we lived in Swindon, so it's 12 years old! It's fab, has a lot of different settings and has a huge drum, big enough to take quilts. I will be lost when it goes to dryer heaven!

Funnily enough my mum had an LG washer Kaz and hated it.

She gave it to her next door neighbour after a couple of months who loved it.

Too late now I expect as we had to go deliver the cakes - and let Minnie meet lots if lovely doggies! - but I was going to suggest AO as well. Even though they brought ours then decided they couldn't connect it so we got it from Currys instead :D
