Saw a woman who used to live opposite us this afternoon. I see her occasionally and was only saying to John last week about what an ignorant person she is. She can be walking towards you on a narrow path and unless you speak first she won't even look.
She has a Springer Spaniel, a rescue dog which is quite nervous (it squeals when other dogs go near) and doesn't seem very well socialised (like it's owner).
Anyway, she was walking towards us in the woods today and her dog was behind her. Billy walked up towards her and she said "Don't bully her Billy" before he'd even got near to her dog. I sort of laughed, thinking she was joking, and by then her dog had caught up and was quite close to Bill. He took a step towards it, nothing threatening about his demeanor at all, and the dog squealed and ran ahead. Springers seem to make a noise like a squeal.
The woman had the dog's lead in her hand and she swiped it at Bill. Thankfully it didn't hit him.
Why why WHY didn't I say anything??? I think I was too surprised. All I said was " come on Bill, you've done nothing wrong" and gave him a big fuss.
If she says or does anything again though I'll be better prepared. Much better prepared.
