Mother in law has her sister in law (John's Dad's sister) and husband visiting at the moment. They live in Vancouver and have been staying in Glasgow with her twin sister, who is also staying with mother in law.
They were due to arrive today, driving down from Glasgow.

She rang yesterday teatime and said that Aunt Mary had called and said they weren't coming on Tuesday after all because - surprise! - they'd decided to leave Glasgow a day early and were already in Monmouth, which is about an hour away :o She was in a panic, so now she knows what I go through when she rolls up on the doorstep well in advance of when she said she would :P

Who knows Saundra
John said he once got home from school and there was a strange American fella sitting in the front garden - turned out that it was his cousin (he'd never met him before) who'd turned up hoping for a room for a few nights

Quite fancy shepherd's pie now you've mentioned it. We'll have to have that soon I think.
We had pork chops, with mash, carrots and broccoli for John and Joe and salad for me.

Saw a woman who used to live opposite us this afternoon. I see her occasionally and was only saying to John last week about what an ignorant person she is. She can be walking towards you on a narrow path and unless you speak first she won't even look.
She has a Springer Spaniel, a rescue dog which is quite nervous (it squeals when other dogs go near) and doesn't seem very well socialised (like it's owner).

Anyway, she was walking towards us in the woods today and her dog was behind her. Billy walked up towards her and she said "Don't bully her Billy" before he'd even got near to her dog. I sort of laughed, thinking she was joking, and by then her dog had caught up and was quite close to Bill. He took a step towards it, nothing threatening about his demeanor at all, and the dog squealed and ran ahead. Springers seem to make a noise like a squeal.

The woman had the dog's lead in her hand and she swiped it at Bill. Thankfully it didn't hit him.

Why why WHY didn't I say anything??? I think I was too surprised. All I said was " come on Bill, you've done nothing wrong" and gave him a big fuss.
If she says or does anything again though I'll be better prepared. Much better prepared.

I'm hiding  got invited to my neighbours bbq today
Not the alcoholics there in turkey for 3weeks
It's m my gardener
Now he has this huge bbq that could feed an army
And he cooks cheap tasteless sausages wafer thin hamburgers and dried chops
There are bread rolls tub of butter and sauce plus bowl of cold potatoesand beer
Not exactly excitting plus it's cold

I usually sit there shaking in my fleece jacket with a cuppa
And flee as soon as I can
So I'm sat in my front room tv on heating on warm but feeling guilty

Oh are you going to Rhodes....how come I didn't know that :P :cute:

Mr Osc has a dose of something that has come on really quickly  He said last night that his throat felt a bit sore, and today feels fluey and sinusy, deteriorating as the day has gone on. We had the children for a couple of hours today and of course, tomorrow is main childminding day, so he is not coming out tonight and going to bed early.
