Our lot are going to a 'Trad' pub for Boxing Day. It usually does a good carvery during the week, so we have high hopes. We are also supposed to be treated to starter, main, dessert, coffee and a nibbles board. If it doesn't match up they will definitely know: we are Yorkshire after all. Image

I was really looking forward to my mince pie too (and John's because he doesn't like them).
That should be fine Frank, they obviously specialise in doing a roast so I'm sure it'll be good.

Trust me, this place would've known had we been paying the bill! ;)
They usually book a party night somewhere but with being so busy this year no one gave it a thought until it was too late.

Just to give you an idea of the kind of restaurant we were at, one of the secretaries and her husband were seated opposite us and one had ordered a steak while the other had beef Wellington. Both came with mash. The mash was contained within a paper parcel tied with string

Mash in a parcel! I would have taken it home, put a stamp on and posted it back. Image

But of rather more concern is the sacrilege that is steak and mash! What is that about? Image

Saundra, I will faint if the diner had gravy as well.

LOL Frank
I think a complaint has been made anyway. John said that no one was satisfied with the place.

Just got my emergency mascara order in with Boots. The website kept going down last night.

My local one doesn't sell Benefit (and neither do any other shops for that matter) and although we're going into Birmingham one night next week I'm not sure if I'll get the chance to do any shopping and I try to avoid the city centre throughout the January sales.
