Good afternoon all!
It's bright and sunny here after a dull, misty start. I ran into town first thing as there was a parcel which needed picking up from the sorting office. An educated guess, seeing as it's come from Orkney, is that it's my fudge pusher friend sending my regular Christmas supply of Orkney tablet. I call her Michelle, Joe calls her the fudge lady
Bless her, she sends John and the boys a small tablet each and then three larger tablets for me - one to eat and two to make fudge cheesecake with.
I saw my parents just getting off a bus as I was leaving Argos which gave me a dilemma. Pretend I hadn't seen them or walk carefully over to them with my bag with Dad's Christmas present sticking out of it hidden behind my back. Of course I chose the second but must've looked a bit awkward and saw Dad looking strangely at me a couple of times
His present is a George Foreman grill so that he can make toasties so not something that was easy to hide!
Plans for the rest of the week have been sent into disarray! John had holiday left so was supposed to be finishing work tomorrow which gave him a nice break. he now has to work Thursday and also is on a kind of night shift tonight. His boss is in a dispute with another company about something not being made correctly on a job but that company are countering that by saying that something else hasn't been fitted properly which is causing the problems, in which case it would be the fault of a site manager from John's company who is on holiday so isn't there to be involved in this. To find out who's at fault some measurements need taking, but whatever it is is in use and doesn't shut down until 11.30pm tonight, then apparently it has to cool and only then, at some ridiculous time, can John actually get inside of it to inspect and measure some dimensions. He'll be going out around 11pm but has no idea what time he'll be back.
My friend Ali and her daughter, my gorgeous Goddaughter Charlotte, are visiting tonight so that'll be nice.
