Ah, thinking about it, H is coming the weekend before his birthday so actually will be here on the 27th, so I think I'll hang onto it, as this one took over a week to arrive. Good idea though 8-) :)

They got the house (actually a cottage) :) Much (much) smaller than the one they are leaving, with little outside space for the children and no off-street parking BUT easier and cheaper to heat, bigger than it looks inside apparently, walking distance to school, childminder, us and Miss Osc's office. It is very rare that houses come up for rent in this area, mostly apartments. When they get past the initial moving stage, deposit etc. SIL reckons they will save well over €1,000 a month between lower rent and heating costs  which will surely ease the pain of the differences - and it has a nice view too. They have to rent from 1st February but won't move till mid February.

Took Bill up the Chase tonight to where we knew the paths wouldn't be quite so muddy and had to turn back and go a different way because there was another nasty accident. We could see three ambulances, a fire engine and various police vehicles. It was on a crossroads that's notoriously dangerous, the traffic which has the right of way is either approaching over the brow of a hill or around a bend and people speed despite the signs warning about deer crossing.

Can't find anything online about it, so hopefully no one was badly hurt. They were very lucky if that's the case.
