It looks as though Newcastle will be back in the Premiership next year after beating Huddersfiled last night. Town in third place need at least four more wins and to equal everything else Toon do to stop them. The rest of us are further behind. With 11 games to go Brighten, unless they have a stinking run-in, also look to be up.

Play-off places look to be going to any four from five - Huddersfield, Leeds, Reading, Sheff Weds and Fulham and with them all having to play at least one of the others it will be interesting, to say the least.

My friends Daughters fiancé had an accumulator bet last week. He put £5 on predicting the winner of a match in each league. All went swimmingly and come Monday night all he needed for £720 was for his dead cert to come right and Liverpool to beat Leicester............
