It Was Down

Postby cruiser2 » 12 Mar 2017, 19:22

My broadband.
It stopped working on Thursday afternoon, 2nd March. I am with BT. Engineer came Monday morning 6th March. After many tests said there was nothing wrong with the wiring. It was faulty router. So a new one was ordered which should have been delivered on Tuesday. It came Thursday morning. Still no broadband. So more phone calls and an engineer is coming tomorrow, Monday again.
Saw this afternoon that I had a steady blue light on the router which meant the internet connection was working.
Have not told BT about this as I have spent enough time on the phone. Have got a list of who I have spoken to and when. Had a phone call this morning from a senior member of staff as the fault has not been fixed. He is going to phone again tomorrow evening.
So have not been on the internet for more than a week.

If the wiring from the cabinet to the home is fine, as per the engineer's report, along with the new router the next two culprits are the microfilter and the ADSL cable from it to the router. The eng should have it fixed in no time.

BT broadband services are a complete mess. As I posted last autumn, it took them around 6 weeks to connect us to BT Broadband here, and the delay was entirely down to their administration. Their service / customer complaints handling was a joke, and I went for and got compensation out of them.

And talking around, we are far from the only people to have suffered delays in this way ....

We keep getting offer letters from BT which are tempting but then I've heard of so many people having problems with their customer service if they have a problem.
