Morning all
It's a beautiful day but a truly horrible one.
Our loveliest neighbour died late last night, suddenly and out of the blue. Bb saw and heard the ambulance arrive - it stopped right outside our house, with all lights blazing. I was already in bed, he came up and it was still there; when it was still there after an hour I knew it was bad news.
Then we saw the daughter arrive...
Anyway, this morning not sure what to do. These are the neighbours with Little MInnie, the ones who had the fab New Year's eve party...John was so chuffed as he's been organising a wonderful surprise birthday party for B's big birthday in just a few weeks...
In the end I said, well the least we can do is take little Minnie out for a walk, so we both went over (the daughter was still there, we've met her more than a few times too).
So I just said, we've come to see if you'd like us to walk Minnie and she told us to come in straight away.
Poor B, such a huge shock. J had a heart problem but it wasn't reckoned to be serious; he was a very slim, good-looking, healthy 72-year-old.
She'd gone to bed, he was in the bathroom and she heard him make a funny noise. He could only get out 'the pain, the pain...' she helped him sit down then onto the floor, phoned the ambulance but he soon lost consciousness. They were here very quickly and tried their hardest but there was nothing they could do
Anyway, daughter now has our phone no. as well as B, and we assured her we meant it when we said we'd help with anything...at the moment I'll take little MInnie out this afternoon, and one or both of us will take her out again in the morning...
Sorry for the sad post, we both thought an awful lot of John and will miss him hugely.
