Police in Wales are going to be using 'live' facial recognition at the Champions League final in Cardiff. The results can then be matched against 500,000 "custody images" stored by police forces.The technology was apparently used before at a Leicestershire music festival.
It is all rather sinister, yet it has been funded by the Home office.
They already know where most of us are if our phones are turned on. They can plot the routes we drive along using the explosion of ANPR cameras. Soon all the faces on CCTV recordings will become 'people' with names and addresses and God knows what other information. What next, secret cameras embedded in the screens of our TVs, laptops, tablets? Oh, hang on, the rumours are already out there.......
It really is getting to the point where Big Brother will know our whereabouts every second of every day.
