It is not as bad as expected but the forecast is for it to be constant till past 10 pm, and it is cold!

Just looked at train tickets to Manchester and back in June. Got them into the basket, clicked to pay and got an error message due to a technical fault and they disappeared from the basket. Went back to start again and the price had increased by £10

Jo, why not try Megabus? It's about £7 return per person and only takes 15 to 30 minutes longer than the train.

It makes it a long day Frank as we'd have to go earlier than we wanted to because of the neverending roadworks on the M6 in Cheshire.
We'd need to get into Birmingham to get it and as close as we are there isn't a bus service from here. We just have trains but the line's being prepared for electrification so Sundays throughout this Summer mean having to go so far and then get the rail replacement bus so it's an hour and a quarter just to get into Birmingham thanks to that, then the Megabus takes over two hours from Birmingham to Manchester.
It's 20 minutes on the bus from here to Stafford station and then less than an hour by train to Manchester.
