Good Morning Monday

Postby JanB » 05 Jun 2017, 07:20

Morning everyone

Still blowing a hooley, but at least the wind is dropping a little and the sun is out.

Off to the doctor later, with all the test results and Grumpy still in some pain, but not as bad. It is possible he may have slightly cracked a rib when coughing

I have some translation to do for Antonia, so we-ll probably stop and have a coffee on the way back.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you-re doing xx

Good morning. :D

After such a hectic, mountain climbing gadding about yesterday totally brilliant weekend...I slept till 10am this morning! :o

It was so lovely to go and see Conor & Lucia yesterday at their new apartment..it's gorgeous! I was so touched to see Conor had loads of photos dotted around of his family...he's a softie. On a dresser he also had the boomerang placed there that mum brought back for him from Australia when he was 9! I didn't even know he'd kept it.

It's very hot here..I'm off for a swim shortly. :D

More than happy to pootle about till work 6 - 9. We only have 2 weeks till we break up! :o

Hope grumpy's ok Jan. xx

Have a great day.

Good morning all, it's raining here and rather breezy!

No plans apart from ironing and housework today. Tom's in work from Noon until 8.15pm.

Had such a great day yesterday. There were lots of armed police around and it really must've been a nightmare for their superiors to have everything in place. As we walked back from the match into the city centre the streets were full of people walking in the opposite direction to the cricket ground, so basically three miles of crowded streets, and the trams heading in both directions were packed solid. If anyone wanted to do anything on those there would be absolutely no way of preventing it. Very scary.
Anyway, the game was a lot of fun and I'd bought the tickets just as they went on sale and managed to get us right at the front by the players tunnel. We were both chuffed to bits the other week when we found out that one of our favourite players, Patrice Evra, was coming back to play. He's a legend in our house, always a great player for the team, he was the captain and a real character, very much loved by the supporters and we were so pleased that we'd get the chance to see him play again. He was sold far too soon and never got a proper send off. What we didn't expect though was for him to come along our section and take selfies after the last of the other players had gone down the tunnel  He was brilliant, so lovely and such a happy bloke. Very funny though that Joe's made the sports pages of The Sun today and is on a few national newspaper websites, not to mention Getty images

Hope everything is ok at the doctors Jan!

Have a good day all!

Morning all

sorry, wasn't online over the weekend - hope you all had a good one

Jan - poor Grumpy, that must be rather uncomfortable for him. Good luck with the doctor appointment
Good luck at WW Kaz, I'm sure you'll have done super well
Hope the yoga does the trick Di, and enjoy the coffee and natter afterwards - always good to put the world to rights
Enjoy your day Ally - sounds like a quiet one is just what's needed. And that is lovely re the apartment
Jo, sounds like you had an amazing time... will google to see if I can find a photo
Saundra, keep the bubble wand for next time; Scarlett won't know any different

Well sort of usual / usual for me.... my colleague Hanna isn't well so I'm on my own covering the admin side of things. We used to be three people but let go of our receptionist who was a temp; as there really wasn't a need. But it is a bit more difficult when it's only two of you - there just isn't back up anywhere and sadly 95% of the colleagues are all to precious to muck in and help.

Then home tonight via Sainsbury to buy some cat food. Claudia (my niece) may or may not be home - she's not sure if she's meeting friends for lunch or dinner. She flies back to Germany on Thursday so only a few more days. Whilst it's been lovely to have her - and admittedly she was gone a good 3 weeks of the 6 weeks she's been here so not at mine that much - I am looking forward to having my house to myself again.

Have a lovely day, whatever it is you're up to x

Morning all, typical bank holiday weather here, dull, breezy, cool with lots of rain forecast  I will have no excuse to ignore the ironing  Just heard from my sister that my godfather has died - he and his wife (still alive) were great friends of our parents although a few years younger, must be aged in late 90s. So my sister and myself are trying to organise ourselves to the south side of Dublin, during rush hour, for a 10am funeral in the morning, with no easily accessible public transport near the church so it will have to be one of us driving. Mr Osc will be playing golf later today, weather permitting.

Ria, that sounds so annoying - especially when other people won't help out. I expect they're quick to complain if you haven't managed to get something done quickly enough though.

Here's the pic on the Mail online, scroll down and you'll see Joe and a bit of me
