Morning again,

Kaz I turned it off too, I didn't think it right they had the entire news devoted to it, asking very shocked people what it was like, etc.
They should have had normal news with 15-30 minute updates, then they could have chosen what they showed more wisely.

Today I shall be planting my pots and deciding what else they need, one of those jobs I always enjoy once I actually start!

I read everyone's posts and instantly forget what you're all doing, sorry
Hope you all have a good day

Good morning all.

What shocking news. How horrible for those poor people caught up in it.
Amazing how quickly the fire spread - I wonder why?

Well, it's a lovely sunny morning here. Just right for a walk - so I'm off now.

Have a nice day.

Absolutely, I think sometimes the tv media like to sensationalise things like this, it's so awful for those poor people, how must their families feel?? :( I usually read FB or Twitter on my phone for a bit before I get up, and I saw the news on there, so put the tv on whilst eating my breakfast. Just terrible.

Well Amy has had her operation yesterday, eventually! She and Tom hung around the waiting room all day until she was called at around 3pm. I don't know all the details yet, as she only spoke to the surgeon this morning but it seems to have gone well. We went in to see her last night, she did look vulnerable with no makeup on and no fake tan....she seemed quite perky and when I text her this morning she said she'd not slept but she was feeling ok....so D was going to collect her mid morning to bring her home. I suspect Tom will be going over there after work tonight probably till the weekend to see how she copes.

I'm working today but there isn't a clinic as our Anne (optician) is on holiday....so it'll just be Jan and me catching up on the chat this afternoon

We have cloud but it's warm....I don't mind no sun when I'm at work!

Have a nice day whatever you are up to xx

Di and Gal, I couldn't agree more, it gets very insensitive :(

Gal I'm glad all went well with Amy xx

Cromwell, poor Mrs C (((x)))

It is baking here, far too hot for that tiny crowded hall tonight so I'm giving zumba a miss. Quiche and salad for dinner.

Evening all, been a busy day, only getting on here now. Such shocking news from London, and I agree about the news coverage - the rolling coverage all day has been awful, reporters on the street scrabbling around for any scrap to broadcast. It does seem as if the council and developers have a lot of questions to answer.

So this morning we had a meeting with our financial advisor (isn't that posh ;) ). Five years since we retired and so the initial deposit period of deposit on Mr Osc's pension fund was up and we had to decide what to do next. Looks like we can draw down some of it......might have to go on holiday 8-) 8-) That took 2 1/2 hours, but she had come to us which was good. Then we had to have a quick lunch and collect the children from school/childminder. Michael had to be at tennis for 4.30pm so I dropped him down and headed off to do the Lidl shop, on the basis that I could be back to collect him within the hour if Miss Osc didn't get back in time, but she phoned while I was shopping to say she would be there in time. So by the time I got home, I was pretty tired. I had bought a couple of pizzas so we wouldn't have to cook. Relaxing for the evening now before tomorrow's normal Thursday with the children.

Well, after spending 3 hours plus in the kitchen this afternoon, this evening was a lovey evening, even if two of the guests didn't turn up :cute: :cute: :cute:   so we have enough food for another bbq tomorrow and Friday

Which is probably a good idea, as the heat is hotting up to August temps
