((Saundra)) ...

It is somewhat warmish down 'ere...

To Shaftesbury this morning; fun and games getting there although nothing as dramatic as Crommers' "hit-man" from yesterday. :D Basically some eejit had taken the double-bend at the Turnpike too fast and flipped his trailer, bouncing a red mini-mower on the back of it into the verge and depositing rather a lot of grass cuttings over the road. :? It's a bend I've learnt to change down gears at before taking it, as you never know what's coming the other way, possibly on your side of the road ...

Having got around the obstruction, off to Tescos for petrol (112.9p unleaded, the cheapest round here), then into town to the bank and Boots. Everybody too hot to be grumpy. Then back to Gillingham to find the police, with commendable efficiency, had already organised the clear-up and got everything squared away at the scene of the accident.

Woody the woodpecker sighted drinking from our bird bath this morning; a sparrow attempting to join him was shown the door in no uncertain manner!

Regular readers may recall I posted a little while back of my attempt to woo Mrs O with a romantic cactus, which never made it past the shopping trolley in the garden centre. Yesterday, Fathers Day, I was presented with a grinning wicker-work teddy bear holding a trug in which was tastefully arranged a small potted .....

It's now sitting on a sunny windowsill in the kitchen ...

Afternoon all, another lovely day here although there is a very thin layer of cloud which is making the sun hazy. Breakfast outside again, and then some very pleasurable time talking about holiday options for next year, as we have some money coming to us from a policy. Mr Osc will be 70 next year :o  :o  so obviously that should be celebrated all through 2018 even though the birthday itself won't be until October ;)

He went out to play golf, I made some soup, and made another phone call to Revenue, who hopefully have finally sorted out a problem we were having. Then I walked up to Miss Osc's house to collect something from my sister, who childminds on Mondays. Just about to make some scones and organise dinner. We are going out this evening to a concert, the cast of the tv show Nashville, really looking forward to it.

Afternoon all - skiving a bit as I'm at work but quiet :)

Lily's hand seems to be getting a bit better - she passed with the childminder this morning en route to playgroup, and she was waving her bandaged hand around saying she has a poorly hand LOL, so clearly her trauma from the event has passed. The blister the burn caused has apparently burst which is why D decided to dress it, to prevent infection.

Tom is coming back from Amy's tonight. She can manage fine on her own, now, she has been doing since she had the accident four weeks ago, but I think her spell in hossie and the op made him feel he ought to be with her to help her a bit. As usual though, they have clashed....he thinks he might as well be home for the good it's doing him being there. She went out last night and had a spray tan so she mustn't be too bad! I don't think she was best pleased that he spent a few hours with me yesterday (Fathers Day) went down well, despite the fact she'd been with him all day on Saturday. Sigh.

Di you must have met Bb about the same time T and I met! Congrats! :D Also on the results from the eldest's exams :D

Well I'm sat at work, it's quite pleasant now that the sun has gone off the huge shop window, and the desk fan has been on non-stop all day! Very very warm today, I don't think T finds it mush fun sat on a hot bus all day :(

Hugs for Saundra ((((((((((()))))))))

Have a lovely day xx

Happy anniversary Di - I'll have a beer to celebrate as we've just decided to meet after work for a couple of cold beers in la Plaza and get a bite to eat. :D :D

I know, bless her....when I was there on Saturday, minutes after the event, all she wanted was to 'wash her hands', running the poorly one under a cold tap for well over an hour! But I think it must have been soothing for her, as if the water was even a tiny bit less than freezing, she was shouting it's too hot!!

Hot out, innit? ;)

Thanks lovely people :)

Hopefully won't happen again Gal but correct procedure is to hold under running cold water until numb, then wrap loosely in clingfilm. Should stop pain and scarring x
