From the DUP's point of view, they have got a great deal for Ulster. From everybody else's point of view...

Not necessarily, especially as Arlene Foster dislikes things that smack of Irish or Ireland and refused to take part in an all- Ireland Brexit forum. I have possibly quoted this before, but in NI, out of every €10 earned from farms, €8.50 comes from the EU. Tourism would collapse without UK money, as would infastructure of all sorts. Arlene Foster and her cohorts must find it hard to stop grinning at the moment. This is the women that oversaw a failed green fuels scheme that could cost the government almost half a billion pounds....this is your money, folks....and has not been called to account over it at all.

Teresa May could regret taking up with the DUP, and I think the photos of signing the deal tell a story - May looks very uncomfortable but Arlene and her pals are absolutely thrilled with themselves.

Osc, if that were Spain, who gets €1bn a year net in EU contributions over and above getting back their entire contribution, I could go with you.

However you statement should read.

"For every €10 earned from farms, €8.5 comes from the UK, given to the EU first and then handed on to the farmers".

The UK is a net contributor to the EU. Nothing that the UK gets from the EU came from the EU, it came from the UK. The main issues for farmers is whether or not the UK government will continue that subsidisation when we leave the EU. Seems NI now has that sewn up.

No, but you can hold the major party of a hung parliament to task for doing deals with minority parties with links to paramilitary forces, probably still active in some way within the country, in order to cling to power.

Actually I'd rather blame Sinn Fein (those who represent PIRA who were actually blowing up the UK), for not taking their seats and making it impossible for the DUP to give May a majority.

If we want to start talking terrorists and politicking.

This rage at the deal with the DUP smacks of the same rage that Remain came out with when they failed to keep us in the EU. Those who don't like it lost their attempt to push the Tories out and that attempt broke the government and forced compromise.

If I blame anyone it's the 60% of UKIP voters who thought they could take their eye off the ball and vote for Corbyn. Now they have exactly what they deserve and I'm happy that they do. They will not get the Brexit they want, they will not get control of our country back and they have nobody to blame but themselves.

I absolutely refuse to get into the whole "lack of taste" bit. You know, UKIP are racists etc. DUP may not be my chose bedfellows but if they get the job done, then I don't care.

Not forgetting the howl of anguish that went up that somehow because the DUP had agreed to prop up the Government on crucial votes, gay rights and gay marriage would immediately be compromised. What a ridiculous notion. Anything to derail the Government however unlikely.

Suff, you can make as many excuses and blame whoever you like for the mess we are in. They are your opinions and you a free to have them.

What you cannot do is alter the fact that the Tory party has aligned itself with a political party within the UK that has affiliations with paramilitary terrorist groups. As an ex-serviceman I abhor that fact and I will tell you now, in no uncertain terms, that the day the deal was signed was the day I vowed never to give my support to the Tories ever again.

If in fact Sinn Fein did by some miracle take their seats, would you be as shoulder-shrugging if May did the business with them? Loyalist paramilitaries killed their fair share of UK citizens too.

If Sinn Fein did take their seats, May would be forced into a larger coalition with other areas of the UK, because Sinn Fein would not work with her and she would not work with them.

However, if they did take their seats, I would be very happy to know that the people of the UK got what they voted for and that democracy was working for them.

Whilst loyalist terrorists did kill their share of UK citizens, I do note that they were not waging a war of terror on the UK people and government in order to force NI into separation and reunification with the south; given that this could not achieved by political means at that time.

Even then, regardless of history. I would rather see political representation of issues in the UK than terror and death.
