Grumpy, in front of Steve, a friend Ria met, has said, not once, but twice , that he will come with me, when I go to England next year

So please, sort out the date for the meet and I'll book flights from Lisbon, then I know he won't back out

We'll get a lift to Funcheira, for the train, either a taxi or metro to Lisbon airport, then off to Heathrow. We'll use TAP or BA. He can get half price on the train, due to his age - Steve thought I would too

So all in all, cheaper than driving down to Faro, parking the car for however long and the drive backwards and forwards.

What is best for us, is that Julia can pick us up from Heathrow - I know Ria would love to do it, but Heathrow is better for us.

During evening nibbles in the Briar Rose on whatever day it was we had an executive meeting. Ally was in the chair, Ria was on the floor and Kaz and I were propping each other up like bookends.

After a long hard drink, sorry, think, a decision was made to cancel the Brum meet.... in its current form.

We batted about a few ideas: A video meet via FB messenger or Skype. We lock ourselves in a room, away from other people, with food and plenty of drinks and have a digital communal pissup - very contemporary. Or we go camping in a field near Kingsbury water park - bring your own booze, sleep in the open or in a tent, and even listen to Dana "All kinds of everything" on a loop. Or my favourite. Arrive late afternoon. Go to Nando's for their cheap evening deal - pay once, eat twice - then drift between pubs and clubs till the sun comes up and go home. Think of it, no hotels to pay for and your trip home could be a magical miss terry tour, hic.

Nope - I'll not do Nandos, whatever that is, I certainly will not sleep in a tent or a park bench - not at my age

I'll sleep in a proper bed, eat proper (is that likely over there now? been a loooong long time since I was over there)

Oh just thought, what on earth would I drink? Booze wise - that is. Used to be Blackthorn or Guinness, don't think I could do that now.
