We had a lovely evening at the Thai with D and J, I've known J nearly as long as D, so it's always a treat to get together.
They are both scatty and have just had to hare over here for my set of keys, they'd locked themselves out

Just made some little cheesy biscuits, our support meeting tomorrow is migrating into Pimms in the garden, though I daresay it will be inside!

Good afternoon all, it's dull and showery here.

Me and Joe were up until 3am watching football and I was up again at 6.30. Thankfully that's the last of the preseason games in the US, we're back to normal times now.

I'll walk Billy again shortly seeing as we're out this evening. Hopefully the rain will stay away long enough for us to have a good wander through the woods.

1:15 - put washing out on rotary line in bright sunshine.
1:25 - took it in again as it started bucketing. Both Ostrich and washing soaked.

British weather ..

So, to the Industrial Shredding Room (aka spare bedroom) where I am still expunging documentation hoarded from the last century.
Fifteen minutes of that, and both the shredder and the bird were somewhat overheated ..

The local council have delivered a leaflet saying we're to get new LED street lights in the next 2-4 weeks. Must start prowling the pavement to find out where they have put yellow blobs for the new locations (they have to go up before the old ones get taken away). We have an existing light more or less opposite, but I recall from Birmingham days that there was an awful schmozzle when they implemented them there, and folk complained that the backwash from the newer brighter lights affected their bedrooms. I think I might 'ave a word with the neighbours to see if they've got any concerns because the bedrooms in these bungalows are at the front, and it might be worth making noises about the council fitting "back hoods" to stop light spillage. The FAQs in the leaflet referred to light seepage and the bland answer was more or less "Don't worry about it" ...... hmmmm!

Ossie, we got the new street lighting some time back and it is very bright and yes they had a lot of 'backwash'. I called the council within a day of them going up because one in particular lit up my entire bedroom; and they came out next day and put the hood on it - and sorted the problem instantly. I suspect though that the backwash affects downstairs bedrooms more because the neighbour upstairs next door said he hadn't noticed much difference in his flat.

Evening all, usual busy Thursday with Michael and Kellie. This morning I had an optician appointment for 10am and Mr Osc was collecting glasses also so we had to bring the children with us. But they were very good, as we knew they would be, so much so that the staff in the opticians was most impressed and asked if they were always so good - proud grandparents! We then got them icecreams and they had a ride on the little Peppa Pig merrygoround in the shopping centre.

Back home for the rest of the day. Michael and Mr Osc set off around 6pm so Michael could cycle home while Kellie waited to be collected. I wasn't sure which parent was collecting her, but she got a call on her "phone" (an old radio remote control) apparently from Daddy telling her that he would be collecting her, and sure enough he did
