Oh how endless is that wait for results. So glad she is out of pain and coming home. xxx

Yes it's going to be a long wait. However, we've discussed it a bit. We've seen a fair bit of cancer in the family over the years and been through the mill on "signposts" on the way.

Mrs S has had no unexplained weight loss, perhaps the opposite that if she doesn't actively diet, she's been gaining weight. She has suffered no lack of appetite and there haven't been any of the smaller subtle signs which tend to indicate something is wrong.

We will be positive and simply wait it out. What else can we do. I'm there if she needs me and she and all the kids can lean on me if required. At least we know that she'll be in treatment within 24 hours of any diagnosis.

I saw her in the hospital this evening. She's off all drips and tubes, has only paracetamol and some antibiotics orally. She's ambulatory, in virtually no pain unless she stretches the stitches. The operation was keyhole and the signs are reasonably small.

She's been phoning everyone about so I've put another £40 on her phone and the only things she's really concerned about is whether she has enough book left to keep her amused if she doesn't get out tomorrow.

I go to bed tonight a lot more reassured than I did last night.
