Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

We had a lovely day with Z and the boys yesterday, Zachery enjoyed his pre birthday lunch and they set off home around 3.30pm. Lots of rushing around afterwards, managed to get the shopping done so almost ready for the second invasion, even got all the bedding washed and ready for the spare room. Busy, busy today, the usual weekly wash, steam clean the hard floors, hoover the bedrooms and a general tidy round. Oh and I'll be making a couple of cakes as my BIL is very partial to my home baked Victoria sponge and fruit cake. The things I do for family

They're having a stop-over in Hong Kong and will arrive at Heathrow tomorrow afternoon. Not looking forward to all that driving in one day, but can't wait to see my sister, it's 5 years since they were here last. Keeping fingers tightly crossed the weather holds up for the next week so we can actually sit outside on the patio and use our new BBQ.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Oh I do hope you get some decent weather Jen xx

My project Jo?
The last few weeks I've been doing pen and ink drawings, some from old holiday photos, one I sat in the garden and drew.
One has taken me 3 or 4 weeks but that's without doing any at home and interspersed with lots of chat and coffee :)

Good morning all! Rather dull and overcast today here in Dorset.

Strange business outside the house this morning. I came out of the front door to wander up to the surgery for an appointment and found that an elderly lady seemed to have crashed her mobility scooter outside our neighbours. No idea how she did it, can only assume she'd tried mounting the kerb at a peculiar angle; anyway, two gentlemen were picking her up and dusting her down, and righting the overturned buggy. Moral dilemma whether to linger and enquire after her or not, but she was being attended to and I was running late, so I didn't stop. I've never seen a mobility scooter in our road before, it's a short cul-de-sac, so I don't know who she was or what she was doing.

About 10 days ago, there was another most unfortunate incident, an elderly lady just round the corner from us collapsed and died on her front drive. Regrettably, t was some time before she was discovered. :( We saw the police in attendance but only found out what had happened a couple of days ago. Not very pleasant, and a timely reminder, perhaps, to keep an eye open for vulnerable neighbours ....

Anyway, have a good day, folks.

It's grey and has been raining here this morning. I was up early and watched CBB on catch up so was sat there ages, with Charlie 8-) :D

Eventually moved my bum and was keen to call in Asda for this hoover

https://direct.asda.com/goblin-gsv301r- ... lt,pd.html

Couldn't believe the price!!! I saw it yesterday and ummed and ahhed, but when I got home and read the reviews I thought, sod it I'm having that! (I've done the downstairs since I got home and am horrified at what it picked up!! I thought my Gtech was efficient! ) So first for that, and then on to Durham where I went straight to the coffee shop as I was clamming!! (Durham speak for hungry!! LOL) Had a look round town and then on to Aldi for a few bits I missed yesterday.

We went to see Dunkirk last night. Honestly? Yes it's a good film in that it's very realistic, but enjoy it? No, it was far FAR too loud (realistic though I s'pose) and all the sea/boat movement made me feel quite queasy....I actually left about half an hour off the end to go for a wee and I didn't return to my seat. I stood at the back of the cinema for the last ten minutes.

Great news re Becky Kaz!! :D :D

I've just had a weird email from the 'Tax Office' saying I am due £243 back in tax if I go to their website and follow the instructions as they don't have my banking details!!! Well first off I don't pay tax(I don't earn enough) and second off, yeah right!! I wasn't born yesterday!!

Sad about your neighbour Ossie :(

Have a lovely Friday all xxx
