It's dealing with the local council that's the problem Saundra  We've had direct debits for donkey's years and never had a problem before.

Di, it's the time it takes out of your day as well isn't it.

I was talking to a lady this afternoon while out with Billy, it was so sad.

I used to see her quite regularly with her dog but we've been going out at different times and different routes lately so I hadn't seen her for a while.

She was on her own, her dog died at the end of May but she still goes for his walk every afternoon at the same time and she takes his lead with her. I felt so sad for her, she's on her own and he was obviously a wonderful companion for many years.

Took Billy out this morning and ran into one of the teaching assistants, now retired, who worked with both Tom and Joe at infant school out walking her dog.

10 minutes later we bumped into a lady walking her dog whose two daughters were in the same classes as T&J and I hadn't seen her since the junior school playground.

Couldn't believe it when just 200 yards further on I saw another woman whose two daughters were in their classes at the same school too. Hadn't seen her since then either :o

Flippin' Arriva buses.

There's always, for as many years as I can remember, been a term time morning and afternoon bus serving Stafford College. It's always a double decker and is packed, as is the normal service which runs at those times and then carries onto the hospital too. Joe gets one or the other, whichever comes along first.

We were checking times the other day and this bus wasn't showing up. I looked and it said that it had been replaced by another number. This didn't show up either on the timetables.

Joe got the normal scheduled 'hospital' service, which is always a single decker, and he said that it was packed, he was standing at the front by the driver and his friend who'd got on in Cannock where the service starts was having to stand near to him too.

I've just found that the replacement bus doesn't even serve this area. It's a totally different route 8 miles away. It doesn't even touch the Cannock area. The college in Cannock closed last term so more students are now going to be going to Stafford yet the bus service has been cut. There are four kids off our small close alone who travel in by bus.

That's not good Jo! Stagecoach here have cut a few of the services that served a couple of local schools! How they expect the kids to get there now escapes me
