Ahhh, slight change of plan here.

Chatting to Jackie (of Steve and Jackie, Ria) earlier, we're going to go with what I really want.

About 35 - 45 bods, Portuguese from the bar, local bods.

We'll be having a planning meeting in a week or so and will be discussing what such a diverse gathering would like.

Also, various people will be bringing fold up chairs, tables, etc.

Vicky, Antonia, Jackie, Pieter and me will be the head cooks

I'm still thinking of a chicken something though - something hot.

I'm not a huge chilli lover and I don't think the Portuguese are either.

My chicken provençal always goes down well at family gatherings - with garlic bread to mop up the juice :)

Change of plan, re the chicken thing.

I'll be doing chicken and chickpeas. Having spoken to a few Portuguese, they're not too keen on the provençal, but happy with chickpeas.

Judy is bringing cheese straws and Vicky is bringing homemade meatballs.

I've just bought 20 litres of red wine   and 10 of white. Bargain at 51€ 8-)

We'll be getting the beer on Wednesday - has to be Sagres and Superbock for Dimas

I'll get some french sticks on Sunday morning.
