We could do with more frequent bus services rather than them being cut couldn't we...maybe get some of the cars off the road!

Joe went to college this afternoon. It was the one class that he has in the main college. He's usually at the engineering workshops which are on the edge of the town centre.

The lesson was timetabled for 1.45pm - 5pm.
He was home at 3.
The room they'd been allocated had been allocated to another group and there was nowhere else for them to use so it was cancelled. He said that if he hadn't had to wait for them to make a decision he'd have made the 2pm bus and been home by 2.30. He saw it trundling down the road away from the stop just as he got there.

Yet another admin mess! Hardly a day goes by does it!

We'll see how it goes, if the same happens next week then it'll be time to complain but hopefully this was just a hitch with it being the first week back.

Having said that there were problems with this lesson last year as the tutor was off sick more often than not which resulted in cancellations more often than not and we did bring it up at a meeting with his tutors and they were as frustrated about the situation as we all were. His engineering tutors are fab by the way so it's good that he's with them for the majority of the time.

Only in the southern states of the US....

My friend who lives in Florida has a teenage son who is in his high school marching band, they perform before football games and all that. Lots of brass instruments, uniforms and even the musicians do a choreographed routine.

She's just shared a video on Facebook and, I kid you not, the teenage girl baton twirlers (or whatever they're called) in their glitzy costumes are twirling and throwing around silver batons in the shape - and size - of rifles.
