A man who I see most mornings while out walking stopped us in the woods this morning to ask me to look out for a lost dog, a 13 year old Border Terrier which had gone missing on the common yesterday. Not his dog, he's Bill's friend and they were playing happily while we chatted, but he'd been out last night helping the owners to look but they couldn't find it.
I've just seen an alert on Facebook about it, and the owner looks to be a young woman. The description says that the dog "wandered off" and doesn't walk very quickly.
How can you lose a dog which doesn't walk quickly? It might not be the case here but there's a large amount of people we see who have their eyes and attention on their phones and are oblivious to what their dog is doing or even where it is. I wonder if this is what has happened here?
I hope it's okay though and finds its way home safely.
