Morning all

Crumbs Crommers, that's a bit of an ungodly hour for a wrong number -
saundra wrote:seen a weather forecast that artic winds and snow due by Tuesday but it was in the DM

that made me giggle Saundra, it's such an inaccurate paper yet so many people (including me) regularly still have a read of some of it. I call it my daily anger dose :D
Kaz, hope you feel better soon - are you steam inhaling with some Olbas Oil? That'll hopefully help clear the sinuses ((hugs))
Ally, good idea keeping busy xxx
Di, I just had a bacon buttie as I was reading through the good morning thread - yum; so delicious. Enjoy the dinner tonight
Jan, enjoy the pootling day
Aggers hope you find a bargain!
Weka, three of my cats are terrified of the fireworks, no way they'd be out in in. The others don't really don't mind. And Maggie seems to be settling really well

I've washed the bedding and towels and have them outside to try and get them a bit dry before finishing off the drying inside. It's rather nippy out there; but sunny. Expecting -2 tonight - brrrrr. I'm putting the winter duvet on today

I really really really need to go to the allotment to have a look and do a bit, but it's cold - I just want to stay inside and hibernate. But hey ho... needs must
And then will be taking in yet another little hedgehog that a neighbour caught last night; took four to Wildlife Aid yesterday and will hold on to these until next weekend and drop them off at another rescue. Lots of little ones again this year which is nice - last year I hardly had any.

Have a lovely day all xx

Good afternoon all, it's sunny here after a very wet start. It's very cold and windy though.

I'm currently pondering Sunday dinner. I never really eat a meat and gravy meal, I prefer salad, so was making shepherds pie for John and Joe. Joe said last night that doesn't want dinner (think it means less time sleeping) and I really really can't be bothered preparing and making a meal like that for one person. I got everything out ready to make it, looked at it all for an hour and then stuck everything back in the fridge.

Not looking forward to another night of fireworks for poor Billy. It was constant banging around here last night and went on well until Midnight. It really is time to ban them for home use. There're a couple of large organised events locally tonight though (although not local enough to be heard loudly by us) so hopefully a lot of people will go to those and not have fireworks at home. The one is near to our old house and is a massive event with a funfair too. I think Joe's going to that with some friends.

Thinking of Ally and Don xx

Kaz, I hope you feel better soon xx

Ria, I hope the frightened cats aren't badly affected tonight xx

Have a good day all!

Morning all........well almost  :D

Bright and sunny here, but Ed tells me it's a tad on the chilly side.

Keeping busy is a good idea Ally, thinking of you both xx

I always have the DM, it's the only crossword I can do  I always think newspapers are more like adult comics not the actual news these days, you get that instantly on the radio or tv.

Quite a few bangs here last night, but not for too long. I agree Jo, fireworks really should be for organised displays only. We used to love taking the children to a big display when they were young, not sure I'd enjoy standing around getting cold now, staying warm and comfortable wins over these days. Oh blimey that makes me sound so old

No plans for today, having roast chicken and veg for dinner with jelly and blancmange to follow.

Have a good day :D

Make it into four portions Jo and freeze the rest ;) D often does this, as she says otherwise it's not worth cooking for one ;) Poor Billy :( Do keep Rescue Rremedy in mind, it doesn't work for all but it's a miracle for Fraggle! Three drops on a bit of biscuit 8-)

Ria, I hope I'm not tempting fate by saying this *touches wood, crosses fingers* but I am feeling better as the day goes on! I seem to be fighting it off but do have some Olbas Oil in the bathroom, so will bear that in mind before bwd, if needs be :D

I actually bought a book of the DM cryptic crossword Jen, so I could stop buying the paper ;) :D

Saundra, it's never too cold for salad! I eat it all year round :D

Kaz, I often make extra and freeze it, John then takes it for his work lunches. Just felt like too much effort this morning and I really don't enjoy cooking even when I can be bothered. We had cheesy jacket potatoes instead.

Forgot to say that we've tried him with Rescue Remedy and unfortunately it's not worked for him :( Adaptil did nothing either. I've dug out some lavender oil though so I'll try that tonight.

Afternoon all, a lovely sunny but cold winter's day here. I got out for a walk around the block and bumped into one of my friends from the gym. I haven't been since before our holiday and don't think I will be better enough to go tomorrow either, but we arranged to go for a coffee after tomorrow's session. She said she had been thinking about me when she walked past our house and wondering where I am - really must exchange phone numbers! Miss Osc was out for a walk earlier with Kellie, and they called in while passing, it was nice to have a chat with her. I am off to do some ironing now...needs must

Kaz, I hope you manage to shake off that dose before it gets a grip - I am still not 100% better and feel it will take a few more days, it's been a week now.

Ugh Osc, hope you are 100% soon! I really feel much better, fingers crossed! XX

Aw Jo, poor Billy :( We were so relieved to find something that works for Fraggle, I really hope you do soon xxx Cheesy jackets sound good to me! :D ;)

Crommers, Mick and I once had a phone number that was just one digit different to a local taxi firm's  :? We got sooo fed up with the midnight phone calls! Hope yours was a one-off!

Tip is the same - Tom managed to get him a couple of nights at the farm, at least that way he's out in the countryside so hopefully won't be so bad. He won't eat when he hears the bangs, tail goes down and he pants a lot, it's so unfair! Charlie, meanwhile, isn't at all bothered....

Speaking of which, with Tom being away last night, guess who shared my bed instead!? Charlie was good as gold, apart from 3am when he put his paw ever so gently on my face....no idea why as he had access to open doors to use his litter tray...I firmly told him I wasn't getting up and please go back to sleep, so with a bit of noisy purring and walking over me a couple of times, he did just that!! Was so sweet :)

Yes Tom took the littlies to the caravan yesterday - I decided not to go as the forecast was so cold and I thought I was coming down with something....our van has no central heating and the fire in the main room and the little heaters in the bedrooms just don't cut it! He got back around lunchtime today so that's us all caravanned out now till March :(

We've been out for a walk as it has been a gorgeous, if very cold day. Chinese, and Strictly results later :D

(((((((((((Ally)))))))))))))

Jo I hate cooking too - one of the things I really loved about Jen living with us! She likes cooking so she did it, and we reaped the benefits! She's veggie but that's ok, so were we for a spell ;)

Osc sorry to hear you're still not well - awful bugs these xx
