Took Billy up the Chase last night, thinking that there'd be no fireworks.
We were wrong, there were some still being let off.

His reaction? Nothing. He wasn't phased at all. I was wondering if he gets so worked up at home because he thinks his home, his safe place, is under attack?

Tom's getting a car. John's Mom has decided to buy a new one so he's buying her Renault Clio. It's 10 years old but has only done 50,000 miles, she's had it almost from new and it's immaculate. He doesn't exactly need one yet and it'll be kept at home as there's no parking at his flat but it seems like too good a car to pass up on. He's paying her £1000, he wouldn't get anything like it for that money.

That's brilliant Jo :D
Eldest had a similar deal, and left the car at home, impossible driving and parking in Brighton.

That's how it is in Wolverhampton Di, he's right in the city centre so there's only pay and display parking. He hasn't driven since passing his test two years ago so John will take him out a few times to get him back in the swing of it and he can use it from home to get to and from work at weekends then. He'll be home full time from next Summer with him wanting to take a year 'off' so will need it then, especially when he has 5am shifts.

Jan, it's not too bad at all. He's nearly 21 which helps. Plus the fact that John said we'd pay half of it for the first year has helped

That's the day wasted then. The parcel still hasn't been dispatched (although the tracker still says it'll be delivered by 8pm). I'm now speaking to the fourth person I've spoken to today (finally got through to a UK call centre) and have spent close to 3 hours now on callbacks and online chat and finally they've admitted that there's no chance of it being delivered today.
I've now got to wait for another call back tonight to see what's going on, they can only email other departments so have to wait for a response which is typically 2-3 hours apparently.

That's great news about the car Jo! Not so good about the parcel

My niece hasn't driven since she passed her test a few years back! Firstly she was living in London, then Bristol and now Manchester city centres.
