Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here, much nicer than all the rain we had yesterday.

Didn't like any of the trees at the garden centre, tbh I'm not sure anything will really impress E. We did think of driving up to Bluewater one day next week to take a look at the trees in John Lewis, they get very good reviews. Anyway it was late afternoon, the weather was rotten, so I suggested we cheer ourselves up with a very late lunch in the pub. Great idea and while we were there we decided it would be too much hassle to try the drive, not even sure how I'd cope, so when we got back indoors we went online and ordered one. It's more than we wanted to spend, but considering how much we usually pay for a real tree, we'll be in profit within 3 years. Just had a text to say it will be here tomorrow. Amazing what a nice hot meal and a pint will do ;)

Weekly shop for us so we'll be doing the supermarket thing this afternoon. After a stop in M&S of course 8-)

Have a good day :D

Afternoon all,

I woke up at 3am with a blinding headache which took three solpadene to put away.

I checked out of the room and I had to have breakfast at 08:30 to settle my stomach before racing to work and putting off my first meeting by half an hour. All morning it has been overlapping meetings with everyone chasing me for the next one whilst I was stuck in the previous one.

Just finishing lunch, next meeting in 10 minutes. I fly to Paris late tonight and take the TGV south at 06:20.

At least tomorrow I will be home in the afternoon so no late Friday night.

Hope everyone is having a better day than I am..

Di, I always meal plan for the week. Sometimes I have to juggle the meals around if plans change but it works well for us and I buy pretty much everything in one trip that way. I pick up fruit and veg if needed in the week. I used to shop more like you do when we lived in the town, I was walking through there four times a day when taking the boys to and from school so it was easy to shop but when we moved here there was only a dingy little McColls. We've also got a Co Op though now which made McColls up their game and have a refit

Good evening everybody.
Have been busy since we came home on Monday afternoon. Shopping and gardening and phone calls and getting rid of emails.
This morning went to give a blood sample. My appointment was at 9.00 a.m. I was called in early and was on my way home by 9.00 a.m. While I was waiting, One nurse came out and asked for someone who was going to the children's clinic.
Then another nurse came out and asked for two people but no one came forward.
People should be charged if the miss appointments.

It's terrible isn't it Cruiser. Do they send reminder texts there? We get them here. The GP surgery send a confirmation text on booking and then a reminder just before and the hospital have an automated call system set up where you get a call a week before and press a number to confirm you'll be attending and they also send a text two days before.
