We have had some problems though, the main one being that we thought that the sale would go through at the start of the school summer holidays; the estate agents and solicitors took their own time though and it didn't go through until the end of the summer holidays. This made a big difference because Crommers jnr is a peripatatic music teacher and works Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings as well. Then he plays soccer on Saturday afternoons. So instead of having five solid weeks to get the house fettled, it's been a matter of doing it mornings and weekends for him.
Plus we thought it was a case of just moving straight in. But like a lot of old houses, there are bodges beneath the surface!
So even though he has worked hard (he's decorated it top to bottom with little help, including high ceilings and skirting boards) it has taken a lot longer than we thought.
There are a few little jobs still to do but touch wood it is more or less finished.
