Christmas lunch

As we're having a traditional Austrian Christmas Eve, i though, as we have 2 Austrians, 1 Irish and us, I'd do a traditional Christmas lunch.

One of the Austrians and the Irish don't like turkey, so that's put a scupper on that. Goose or duck was suggested but both the English don't like either

I could do a couple of chickens - they do really small chickens here - but that seems a bit of a cop out.

Suggestions please?

A lump of pork, slow cooked, with peppers or a goulash maybe?

We're meeting at Antonia's on Saturday, for dinner, to discuss both meals.

How about roast leg of lamb, with all the trimmings? I know that's more an Easter thing, but it's still a rather special roast xx

How about a nice Gammon Joint and a couple of small chicken as an alternative?
Serve with Pineapple and mustard sauce or plain if preferred.

The lamb here is not good Kaz and I'm sorry Lissie, we can't get gammon for love nor money. I don't think Apelonia even do it.

How about a nice big chicken and mushroom pie, with a creamy sauce?

Otherwise sod them and do the turkey, if they visited anyone here they'd be expected to eat it, or have everything except the turkey

I'm with Di, do a turkey! You could also appease the haters with a chicken.

The turkey dislikers said that they find the meat dry - so if I cook it properly, it won't be

I'll do a sauce and a gravy, then they can smother it

I don't think I could get a chicken and a turkey in Jo, not with the roasties too

Is that why they don't like it? Show 'em how it should be done in that case!
