I've just send an e-mail to our mayor. Lovely bloke, his mum lives just up the road from us.

After the really high winds we had earlier this week, our rubbish bins actually blew over :o :o There are 5 large containers, bit of a mess, as some are burnt and then most are without lids, so the local feral cats and dogs get in them :o

So then, of course, the cats and dogs had a field day and rubbish was strewn over quite an area. When we went out yesterday, we noticed that all (well, most  ) of the rubbish had been picked up by our binmen :Hi: :Hi: Not something they'd normally do - in fact they can sometimes make more mess when they've gone. But about half an hour was spent, according to Judy, who can see the bins, by the guys, clearing up.

So I thought a message to our mayor, to thank the lads would be good. Judy is doing the same.

Not the best of jobs they have, but it's a job and well done them for clearing up :D :D :D :D

I think I should be nominated for the “mum of the year” award.
Oliver “lost” his handball at school two days ago. He’d saved his pocket money up to buy it. He was so upset. He knew exactly where it was, only he couldn’t reach it as it was down a drain. He’d told his teacher, but she said she would talk to the caretaker, and there it sat, bobbing in the “water” for the last 2 days. So today was last day of school for 6 weeks, said ball was still down the drain, his teacher handed me a plastic bag and said put your arm in here, so in I went, hand down the drain up to my elbow, and got the ball. I never, ever, want to be that close to a urinal ever again. Said ball is bobbing in disinfectant now.
Everything happens for a reason
