The sun's disappeared here now, had a lovely long walk with Billy though and he came back without a speck of mud on him as the ground is frozen solid :Hi:

Ria, what a nuisance! Hope you're not too late home tonight because of it!

Morning all.......well almost

Good luck with the bloods Di x

Managed to speak to Matthew earlier, because we didn't speak on Friday he was about to phone me again. They are assessing the situation week to week and he confirmed I'm 4th on the list so should be in within the next 2/3 weeks all being well. I explained I'd been confused getting the phone call from Cheryl offering me March and he said that's a solution for people lower on the list, apparently it's to go into their private wing. Well much as that sounds attractive, March doesn't. Matthew has assured me I will get my surgery much quicker staying on my current list. He's advised me to ring him again Thursday afternoon when he hopes to have more information about time scales. Fingers tightly crossed.

Oh and after I put the phone down I realised I had another voice mail from Cheryl so rang her back immediately wondering what was going on. She had forgotten I spoke to her on Saturday and she'd suggested I ring Matthew this morning. She did reiterate she was offering March and seemed a bit surprised I would turn the private wing down, but it's such a long wait and I just want to get it over with. Honestly you couldn't make it up, all these cancellations have totally upset the system. There are three hospitals in our area and one of them has actually cancelled everything for 6 weeks, thank goodness that's not the case with the QEQM.

Have a good day :D

Fingers crossed you're not going to be waiting long Jen!

It was planned that Joe would have his surgery at Stoke but one of the doctors mentioned that there was less chance of a cancellation if it was done at Stafford so plans were changed and he was booked in there instead. When he went for his pre-op appointment, at Stafford, the nurse doing it said that they very rarely cancel operations so we were glad that the doctor had thought of that. Stoke did actually cancel some while he was in Stafford due to lack of beds so he was lucky.

Private healthcare isn't always all it's cracked up to be anyway. John had to have abdominal surgery a few years ago so used BUPA as his work provide that. He was all prepped to go down for surgery when they realised that they didn't have a piece of equipment that had been ordered in so he was sent home and had to return the following week.

Afternoon all, sunny and very cold here today, although oddly enough there was no frost this morning. Went to the gym and then out for a cuppa and chat with another gym lady. Back for lunch and we've been catching up with recorded stuff. We had a lovely time on Saturday night but did not sleep well in the hotel - no reason, it was quiet, comfortable and the temperature was fine, but both of us were still awake at 4am  Finally got about four hours. When we got home about 1.30 I went to bed and slept until 4pm, then went to bed early last night. Nothing planned for the rest of the day, fish pie for dinner.
