They do. The prices of concert tickets is shocking. I'm going to less concerts now because I can's justify paying that much, it's getting ridiculous if you have to buy two tickets. And it's not just the face value price of the tickets but the fees charged on top of them.
Green Day always had a policy of keeping ticket prices low so that no one was priced out of going to their shows. I remember paying less than £30 each for me and Tom in 2009. Last year the same tickets were over £60.
We had restricted view tickets for The Killers at the NEC a few years ago and they were also around £30. Restricted view just meant that they were the very first side block next to the stage and the only part of the stage that we couldn't see was where the drummer was sat. When they played there late last year I saw those seats were available again and they were excellent seats so I looked at buying them again - £75 each. No thanks.
I will admit to paying £175 to see Madonna once (2006?) though, but OMG! I've always idolised Madonna so to be that close to her was amazing....I was three rows back from the catwalk (the celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow and Guy Richie were in the first two rows
) and it was worth every penny. I've also got a ticket stub from seeing her in 1990 and that was £21. I've got a stub for David Bowie, from a few years earlier, and that was £16.
