Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 08 Feb 2018, 06:32

Good morning.

Reaching the dizzy heights of 14 degrees today. At least it's sunny with blue skies. Grey skies I don't like.

In the academy today from 9 - 9. I'm covering two classes this morning and will finish at 11. Again, rather than go home I've a few bits to buy in Mercadona and the bank to go to so I'll not bother walking home. I'll pop into a cafe for a coffee and pitufo. :D

Back to the academy to help Karen change the window display (we do this every January. It's work that the students have done and it's nice for the parents to see their progress) and by the time I've done all that it'll be time for my classes 4 - 9.

Don's just suggested we meet for a beer tonight and I've agreed that's a jolly good idea.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning :)
Beautiful out there but my goodness, how cold?! Minnie's water bucket was frozen over and I had a job breaking it!

Should be craft this morning but probably not, I've been up since five running to the loo :(
Cleaner starts today, I'd have preferred to be out of the way...

Hope you can all stay warm
x

Ps, they're just talking about concert ticket prices on breakfast.

Morning you two, morning all :)

Ally it sounds much more sensible to just stay "out" rather than coming and going 8-) :geek: Have a great, busy, day :)

Di our weather is the same, but dry is always a bonus here ;) Sorry you aren't up to Craft today :( Hope all goes well with the cleaner, like you I think I'd want to be out. I always prefer being out when people are doing "stuff" here, best to let them get on with it in my book. Hope you feel a bit better later (((((((((x)))))))))

I saw the item about concert prices too!

Out for a walk in a bit, got to keep my steps up while I can't do zumba or pilates! I hope to get back to it next week. Will pop into the physio dept at the hospital, whilst out, to refer myself 8-)

Have a good day everyone xxxxx :)

Good morning all :D

Sunny and bitterly cold here, it's lovely :D

I'm just back from a walk with Billy, it's a great way to start the day :D There's housework to do today and food shopping this evening.

We had a lovely night out last night with Joe, Tom and Shannon and we dropped Tom's presents in when we picked them up so that he's got them for tomorrow. He's booked this weekend off work so he won't be home.

Di, I hope you're feeling better soon xx
They were talking about the price of concert tickets on the local BBC radio station when I was getting ready to take Billy out. Another problem we seem to be having around here is that artists totally miss out the West Midlands when touring so on top of tickets you have to factor in travel expenses and possibly a hotel too. Frank Turner announced dates last week for a large UK tour and, for example, he's playing Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield which are all relatively close together yet the only Midlands concert is in Leicester. His Birmingham gigs always sell out quickly. Green Day sold out two nights at the NEC in 2009 yet on their next arena tour, which was last year, we were bypassed although they played Manchester and Leeds which are again quite close to each other. They're not the only culprits though, it's a pleasant surprise to look at a list of tour dates and see somewhere local named.

Have a good day all :)

Morning all. Freezing here too. the water we leave out for the birds is frozen over, but there is no ice on the pavements, which is a plus.

Not much on today. A bit of shopping and sausage casserole for tea.

have a good day all.

ps Jo, I went to see Vic and Bob at the Leeds arena the other year, but the tickets were a present!

Morning all
It is bright and dry but so cccccold!
Got to go to Canterbury today to pick up a parcel. I have been putting
it off all week but must go today.
Got problems with the drains again.
The sewer is blocked so Homeserve is coming tomorrow to deal with it.
Don reckons it has been the extra high tides that has caused it as the girl
on the phone said she has had a lot of call outs.
Have a good day.

Morning everyone

Looks lovely out there, but I'm not going out for a couple of hours yet. Th wind has dropped from hooley to breezy.

Hope you feel better soon Di xx and agree, much better to be out when cleaners turn up.

If it stays like this - no wind - then I'll head out and help Grumpy get rid of some of the many large tufts of grass we have. I'm sure they multiply at night

Long day again for you Ally xx

Hope you all hav a good day and stay warm xx

 Crommers, we had tickets to see Vic and Bob at Symphony Hall in Birmingham but it was one of the dates that they cancelled due to Bob's heart and they didn't reschedule (pair of workshy fops!).They did a show at the NIA too but by the time they'd cancelled the smaller one tickets were pretty much sold out and I couldn't get two together :(

Morning all

It is rather nippy - the car showed -5 as the temp when I headed off for work. But at least it's a sunny day which makes it a lot more bearable.

Di, I do hope you feel better soon. As for the cleaner, I also would usually prefer to be out but I think for a first time it's possibly quite handy that you're there so if there are any questions about how you like things done / where things are you are on site to answer. But once the first visit is done, then yes - out of the way is much better

Ally, a long day for you - enjoy the beers this evening. Are you allowed to take a photo of the display - would love to see what you do

Everyone else, have a lovely day - stay warm and don't overdo all the various bits and bobs you're all up to

a usual / usual for me - fab!
