Di, it's awful that you'd end up paying more towards a motability car.
John's car is leased by his company. He's had a company car for over 20 years now and the lease on this one expires in a year. He's seriously thinking about not bothering getting a new car because the tax he pays for the privilege of this 'perk' is shocking. He's always been savvy and chosen cars which he'll pay less income tax for but from April this year he'll be paying an extra £40-something per month and then an extra £70+ on top of that from April next year. It's really not worth it any more and we could actually lease one ourselves for much less than he's paying in tax for this one
