Good afternoon all

It's dull but dry here. Been into town on the bus,to get my daily paper, as our local shop hadn't had any delivered.
(thank heaven for bus passes!)

Not much planned for today, so it will be hobby-time.

Hope you are all O.K.

Good evening all, it's been a busy day!

I've walked Billy, cleaned the house from top to bottom, washed and ironed, packed, checked in online and now we're about to walk Bill again before taking Joe to Tesco to sort him out with food for the week (I can see Pot Noodles being top of his shopping list).

We want to just take hand luggage and we both have a tiny case each. I packed mine this morning and got the luggage scales. We have a 10kg cabin bag allowance each. I'm really not taking a lot but my case weighed 15kg and that was without a pair of Converse in. Tried it on the bathroom scales and it was the same. Took some stuff out (thinking it could go in John's case  ) and it was still over 10kg. I was really scratching my head as I used it for LA and it was well under 10kg and I took more stuff that time. Kept changing what was in there, still over 10kg.

I'd only been reading the wrong dial on the scales hadn't I. I'd been looking at the pounds instead of kilos. It actually weighs 6kg.

Let's hope that if and when we leave the E.U. we can get rid of all those stupid metric terms
that have been forced upon us, and get back to those good old pounds and ounces, feet and
inches, and miles, and Fahrenheit, so that we understand and visualise just what people are
talking about.

As I was taught the metric and imperial measures, I can do both

Those younger than me were probably only taught metric, so would be difficult for them to move to imperial. As much as it is for you with metric. And living here, I think in metric now ;)

Jan's right. For the younger ones to go back to metric now would be like our generation going back to old money.
